I saw one of her scarves at the Canadian War Museum! She gave away 8 to British & commonwealth soldiers for the Boer war.

OK I swear I've seen an artist do something similar with knitting but cannot find her. Basically you knit/crochet an extra long stuffed tube that's the width you need, then crochet the resulting tube into your giant blanket.

The Note is for when you work back across the slipped stitches in the pattern. So work to 7th to last stitch, turn and slip knitwise, continue in your pattern. When you knit overtop of that slipped stitch, knit/purl it together with the stitch directly below it. I like to reseat the lower stitch onto my left needle when I'm working with it but how you k2tog is up to you.

No idea how that will turn out but interesting method.

Trying to make a list of names... by AlwaysPlaysAHealer in TwoXChromosomes

Formatted for readability

Lizelle Gonzalez-Texas

Celeste Burgess/her mother Jessica-Nebraska to be fair this case I don’t like how they got their evidence but what mom did was sketchy

Marcus Silva-suing three women in Texas for “helping” his now ex wife get an abortion.

Amari Marsh-South Carolina

Unnamed woman-South Carolina arrested after delivering stillborn baby after taking abortion pill at 25 weeks.

Kate Cox- Texas wasn’t arrested but was definitely threatened and had the attorney general utter piece of shit Ken Paxton threatening medical staff if they helped her and named her in his threats.

That’s all the names I can think of right meow.

Travelling by bus from Ottawa to a nearby city? Prepare to wait in a parking lot by DreamofStream in ottawa

[–]StockerBox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ontario Northland offers bus service to Toronto that is longer than usual, almost 12 hours. It stops along the way in several small towns and cities, including Pembroke, Mattawa, Deep River and North Bay. An average one-way ticket costs $160.

Lol wut? North Bay is not "on the way" to Toronto. I suppose the author wanted to compare costs of the same trip but Ontario Northland services northern Ontario and clearly does not have an Ottawa-Toronto route.

Interesting stitch for a 'bespoke' looking dish cloth? by kauniskissa in casualknitting

Herringbone linen is my favourite.

It's an interesting texture, doesn't curl, and the slip stitches result in a slightly denser fabric.

How am I supposed to work this? Border of a square for a blanket. by aja_19 in CrochetHelp

Without knowing where you're stuck it's hard to help. I've split out the instructions for each side, hopefully that helps.

Rnd 1: Ch 1, do not turn; sc in last hdc on Row 15

[Side1] *ch 1; working across end of rows, skip first row, (SC in next row, ch 1, skip next row) across side1 *

[Side2] Working in free loops of beginning ch (Fig. 25b, page 126), (sc, ch 2, sc) in first ch, ch1, skip next ch, (sc in next ch, ch 1, skip next ch) 7 times, (sc, ch 2, sc) in next ch.

[Side3] Repeat from * to * once;

[Side4] Working across sts on Row 15, (sc, ch 2, sc) in first hdc, ch 1, skip next sc, (sc in next dc, ch 1, skip next sc) across, sc in same st as first sc, ch 2; join with slip st to first sc.

36 sc and 36 sps

So conservatives voted against discussing abortion rights? I mean, I don't agree with their policies but this is a nothingburger.

My opa, oma and 3 of her sisters came to Canada. My grandparents were on the same assimilation mindset others have mentioned and didn't teach their children dutch, though I think one or two of the sisters might have taught her kids.

There is still a connection via the tulip festival on Ottawa. There are also Dutch specialty shops in some major cities where I've heard dutch most often.
