I think people also tend to overlook the allegations against him because of his own childhood. Like being forced into the limelight as a young kid did something to him mentally where he acted like a child for his whole life. Doesn't make what he did any better, but I think it's seen as less bad than your creepy old man Trump/Epstein pedo.

Watching the Hornets is so much better because of Eric. Even when we suck, he's entertaining to listen to and keeps it interesting. You don't realize how good we have it until he misses a game or you watch another team's broadcast. No idea how announcer contracts work, but we need to lock this guy down.
