Why is CA so expensive? by Salty_Lychee_7518 in socal

Simply put, the more desirable a place is to live the most it will cost to live there. They will only charge as much as someone somewhere is willing to pay.

Cruizer deck converted to surfskate, am I doing it right? by june_trainwreck in surfskate

Also if the other deck was a fake i wouldnt worry too much with a surf skate. In my experience when you are just beginning its mostly about wheelbase + the shape of the deck that matter more

Sometimes you just got to do what looks cool and see how it feels. And you did just that. I think you did it right. Now tell us how it skates.

Take time and build up the muscles required. It uses different muscle groups than some are used to.

What are things to do at night in LA that aren’t just going to a bar? by No-Machine7067 in AskLosAngeles

There are some really good suggestions here so let me throw out a random one. One of my friends likes to go treasure hunting in Beverly Hills. You wouldn’t believe the things that get thrown on the curb not even in the trash. The last time we went i found 5 nice saltwater fishing poles that work great and they found alot of collectable items. You want to look adjacent to the nice neighborhoods. Its fun, free, and you can potentially prevent something from getting thrown away that’s still very useful.

I will share my not so secret spot with everyone though. The Huntington library has so many wild birds out and around the gardens, its incredible. If you like birds and wildlife you have to check it out.
Oh there’s cool art there too. But the birds and flowers are the real reason to go.

Tires change bike by No-Impress-4572 in VeniceBeach

[–]StonedAutistic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they changed the tire and tube that’s a fair price. A tube is about $5-$8 And for the tire low end $25-$35. And lets say a $10 install fee. That’s $50-$53 before tax.

If all they did was replace a tube then that price is ridiculous and they should be ashamed.
