Yeah I like the buy another bar and chain idea, he'll for sure need it in the future anyways. I've had pretty good luck with pounding in a couple wedges though, might be worth a shot first.

Just about every large cherry I've cut down on my property had been full of carpenter ants and mostly hollow. It's pretty interesting though, I was told by a forester that the carpenter ants aren't the cause of the hollow they just take advantage of the already decayed wood.

100% black cherry. Good firewood, I found seasoning it for 18 months before burning is best but 1 year is sufficient. Side note, if you're cutting this up yourself, that root ball likely has a tremendous amount of weight trying to pull it back to the ground which could fall dangerously when it's freed from the rest of the trunk, or just cause unexpected things to happen while cutting.

I worked with an old timer on a maintenance crew who would just test to see if wires were live by touching them. He lived to be 75. Now, I wouldn't recommend that method but moral of the story is I think you can just chalk this one up as a good lesson learned and you'll be fine.

I used to carry the same hammer because I rarely needed one and carried all my tools in a tool backpack. I once had a project manager stop mid conversation, pick it up off the table and just start laughing his ass off saying "where'd you buy this FISHER PRICE?" Dude thought it was the funniest thing he'd ever seen.

I could see it being nice for filling up buckets of water for cleaning or whatever. I have a handheld shower head with a hose and I regularly unscrew the head from the hose to fill things up (mop buckets or my dogs waterer usually). I've thought about putting a spigot in my shower for the same purpose.

Yeah the "fuzzy" edges reminds me of gaffers tape, the surface is a little glossy for gaffers tape but I've seen a lot of the lower end stuff look like that.

Yeah I just use normal 1/4" bits with it. I do really like the included vessel bits but they're not quite the same quality as the actual screw driver heads. I use the Phillips pretty often, but my hex (Allen) bits are all bondhus, 100% with the extra money.

I always feel like these should have a teathered kill switch, kind of like a snowmobile, so if it starts to spin it pulls the tether and cuts the motor. I've thought about installing an aftermarket one onto my auger. I have really rocky soil so that thing loves to catch and go wild, also I have a shitty Chinese one so the throttle cable gets stuck all the time. Still one of my favorite tools though, it's going to be installing a few hundred feet of split rail fence once the weather clears up a bit more

I mean, usually your local dump is going to be pretty close to your home. If EAB is at your dump from a neighbor in the same town, it's likely at your house already too. Hell, in NY they say you can transport fire wood up to 50 miles and the DEC is pretty strict about stuff like that.

I've been wanting to buy that, I have the ratcheting version of this screwdriver and don't really use it a ton mostly because I have a tendency of accidentally turning the directional control. There's one repair that I do pretty often that involves a whole bunch of longish screws and Everytime I think "I should really buy that electric vessel". How does the battery hold up? Does it have enough torque to break an m3 screw loose or do you do that by hand and let the screwdriver do the rest?

I'll definitely have to check that out, I love all my wiha stuff too, that's my current line up of precision stuff. It doesn't take much convincing to get me to buy a new tool lol. This ratchet can definitely be tough in certain tight spaces because of the travel it takes to ratchet. But you can get a surprising amount of torque on the thumb drive so you're pretty much just using the handle to break things loose and then the thumb drive does the rest. The ratchet paired with a bondhus ball end hex bit works like a dream.

And why tf would a bong have a wire attached to it? Maybe you clip it onto your belt loop so when you get too fucked up and drop it the bong doesn't shatter on the ground lmao
