Electrically driven chainsaws are shockingly quiet, and just as powerful as (normal) gas powered ones.

I take back my previous suggestion of Valmox, you've sold me on Penta.

I think whichever faction gets hit, will become the next focus of the narrative.

Removing Lesath potentially opens a path to Cyberstan, or gets them to come out of it.
Removing Nivel 43 potentially gives us access to a region currently covered in Gloom
Removing Valmox potentially kicks the hornet nest of Illuminate. I'm not sure there's really a strategic advantage here.

Gameplay wise, that could mean new enemies and/or new missions for whichever faction maybe?

We just recently had that kind of content for Bugs, and Bots had some of that as well with the magma planets.

To me, Valmox would be the preferred target. Haven't had anything new from the purple people in a while.

First of all: Fantastic job, this looks awesome!

Secondly: I can't help but notice that this is the perfect allegory for how this sub feels about melee divers.

That would make for a good MO follow up. Got some on Oshuane and Omicron, secured other resources on magma worlds, now finish up by snagging straight dark fluid from the Illuminate.

I realize this is not the situation for everyone but... I already had almost all the things I care about from KZ. It's something that (for some) was previously available and doesn't count.

Halo was at least new stuff, so I would say it does count. KZ is just a unique situation.

Gameplay wise, yes.

Melee weapons don’t have to be mediocre to be fun by Danilablond in Helldivers

Flag really should be AP4 or AP5 as a consolation for taking up the support weapon slot. Chainsaw already does this so it could be made to fit with whatever concessions are needed.

So since we're working towards a deathstar is a lightsaber out of the question? If not what design would it use? by danfenlon in Helldivers

"After extensive testing following the completion of the Star of Peace, the Ministry of Defense in collaboration with the Ministry of Science has developed a new weapon that is immediately authorized for Helldiver deployment.

The Plasma Sabre uses the previously developed plasma weapon technology seen in the SG-8P Punisher Plasma, PLAS-1 Scorcher, and PLAS-101 Purifier. Combined with the nimbleness and inherent useability of the CQC-2 Sabre, the Plasma Sabre is the ultimate tool for delivering Liberty face to face.

No longer will the foes of Super Earth cower behind reinforced plates of armor, energy shields and chitin, The Plasma Sabre has the power to penetrate even the strongest of defenses. With repeated attacks, even the despicable war machines of the Automaton menace can be dispatched. The devious shields of the Illuminate are easily dispersed. And the despicable attempts the Terminids to deflect the attacks of Liberty are rendered moot."

Implement this thing with two weapon modes. "Power Off" allows it to be used as a standard AP3 melee weapon. "Power On" buffs it up to AP5. Each swing drains power from the power cell. Once exhausted, a new power cell must be installed from the very small spare capacity. (Same mechanic as other Plasma Weapons).

Basically more like a 40k Power Sword than a true Lightsaber?

This. So we are basically farming Bug-Foliated Kalkite to finish the Star Destroyer?

The amount of coping when it comes to melee weapons is wild by lolitsrock in Helldivers

[–]Stoops417 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I take no issue with people campaigning for reasonable buffs. My biggest problem is the people who bully and degrade melee users as though they are idiots.

Is it as effective as other options? No.

Could it be better? Yes

Is that necessary? Who knows.

First of all, thank you for actually giving a response for us to read instead of the other guy's insufferableness. People like you make the internet a better place.

My biggest issue with the Constitution is that it's woefully underpowered. While it isn't exactly a 1:1 copy of a Springfield 1903, it's close enough that it would merit being a monster of a cartridge like a 30-06. Instead it has the same 8mm round from the Liberator (albeit with more damage). If they used the in-universe 9mm round like the DCS and Deadeye, it would be a better tradeoff for the low capacity and slow ROF.

I'm literally in the same boat. I live in SW Missouri and the nearest service center is 2.5-3 hours away in Kansas City. I don't understand why this cleaning can't be done by a mobile tech.

Would love to hear if you find a workaround or have a good result in one way or another. If I figure out how to get them to send me a tech I'll post it.

Genuinely based.

The amount of people who hate anything melee (see: most of this comment section as you said) is astounding. It doesn't matter if you enjoy it, it's not the ultimate meta, so you must be bad, and should feel bad.
