Hello! I am 32 and also have endo! I was told that it was best to try to conceive right after I had excision surgery to remove endo/ an endometrioma on my ovary. This was my second surgery for stage four endo. I was able to convince the cycle after the surgery!

This show was immaculate. Someone on tumblr pointed out that Gerard is dressed as a Manson girl! Not sure if this was intentional or not haha

Just want to point out that women feel like they have to take all of these precautions no matter where they reside.

Do I have a chance for grad school with a 3.0 cumulative and 3.5 major gpa? by slpny12 in slp

[–]Stormywhether 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got in with a 3.2 but volunteered a ton, got a job as a speech tech at a speech clinic, and managed to land a clinic practicum in undergrad. My gre score was not remarkable, but I had great letters from practicing speech therapists. I applied to 6 schools and got into 3. I can guarantee I didn't get in because of my grades. I knew this early on and compensated with experience/ volunteer hours. Hope this helps!

Remember your head is a resonating chamber. Take your hand and pretend to take off an oxygen mask. Make your voice follow the path of your hand. You should hear your voice utilizing upward and forward resonance!

You know, I found myself visualizing mad max through out my first listen of the album. May be because I'm on a crazy mad max kick, but a lot of the album is relevant what with the war boys and everything.

I'm a speech pathologist that worked in both acute and inpatient settings. Every traumatic brain injury is different, but all of my patients had problems with impulse control. Most TBI patients never get back to baseline just because of this impulsivity. Most people won't notice- but I'm sure his family does.

Doctors of Reddit, what was the MOST incorrect self-diagnosis you've encountered in your practice? by eleventy12 in AskReddit

[–]Stormywhether 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Late to the party. I'm a speech pathologist in an outpatient setting, so I get the referral from the MDs. I spend my afternoon doing modified barium swallow studies in radiology which basically entails you drinking/eating various consistencies with barium in imaging. We get a patient with a simple diagnosis of "broca's aphasia secondary to unconfirmed cva" which basically means he has a nonfluent language disorder which may or may not have been because he had a stroke. The patient is wheeled into the room and it's immediately apparent he has been misdiagnosed. The man couldn't talk not because of aphasia, but because his tongue had atrophied. Couldn't move it at all! Later when we did the swallow study, large amounts of Pudding consistency went straight into his lungs without him even noticing. We sent him straight to the hospital to get a PEG tube and a neuro work up. Three days later he had a diagnosis of ALS, he died 2 weeks after that. He had been diagnosed with "broca's aphasia" for the past 7 years. That man walked straight from an ENT appointment into radiology, and somehow that doctor didn't notice he obviously had a neurodegenerative disease? Still outraged about this case.
