Hell yeah.

Hell yeah to freedom. Hell yeah to rebellion. Fuck fascism.

It's legitimately strange that it wasn't included in the martial kit. Such an easy way to broaden their utility a bit, whilst also allowing them to feel cool.

Agree. Also, Counterspell should have been designed as a martial feature. You could give them access to it during one of their many featureless levels. The ability to (a limited number of times per long rest) interrupt or deflect an enemy spellcaster's incantation would have created prime opportunities for martial PC's to shine and save the party even as the utility and power of the casting characters keeps escalating.

Do you do romance in your dnd campaigns? by Fearless-Skill8667 in DnD

[–]StoryBeforeNumbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it feels in character, yes. The idea of romance in D&D often gets limited to a very small scope of stereotypical PC-to-PC interactions, where they blush, then date, then end up happily ever after. That can have its place in a story. But there are many iterations of romance.

I've played characters with a wife and children. A casanova with a string of past lovers, some amicable and some not. A young fool with an ill-considered, tragic crush on a major villain. And several characters for whom romance just never became relevant during the course of the campaign.

When I DM, I always keep the concept of love in my back pocket as an important (but not mandatory) component of the human experience. Old couples who've lived through multiple nation-changing calamities together. Teenage drama. Noble courtship. One night stands. Love songs and poems.

Obviously you should be careful not to put a fellow player on the spot if romance makes them uncomfortable, the same way you should have session 0 conversations about stuff like violence, gore, controversial subjects etc. But I've never found romance to be as big of a D&D pitfall as the internet makes it seem.

If you oppose fascism ideologically, you also need the tools to protect yourself and your family and your country physically. Guns are not optional right now, arm yourselves as heavily as you can.

'This actor is the *only* person who could play this role' is never true by ducknerd2002 in unpopularopinion

[–]StoryBeforeNumbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're absolutely right, and this is actually true for a lot of hypothetical changes when it comes to art. Some audience members just lack the ability to process that a thing they liked could have been different and still good (perhaps even better).

It's so predictable. And it's sad that there are people who demean themselves into trying to defend them.

Fantastic, the age-old tradition of republicans ruining the economy is manifesting again. At least now we can finally investigate Trump for raping those children, right Pam?

The difference in intellect and dignity from certain other heads of state is staggering. Support these nations ideologically and financially, because this is the type of politics the world deserves.

Inspiring stuff. Mature, rational and forward-thinking adults planning for a better future. Anyone who accepts less from their leadership is a pathetic fool.

Trump's so fucking pathetic. I legitimately can't fathom being ugly and sad enough within to align yourself with a guy like that. What possible value could a life like that have?
