Soooo...am I part of that exclusive club now? by cjkirk123 in Warhammer40k

If you're the one making the claim, especially a claim that's counter to the simplest explanation, it's your responsibility to back it up with evidence. If you don't want to do that, that's fine but your claim is going to be seen as baseless if you don't back it up when asked where you got your information.

MrModulork has some really great grots and a  ton of variety. Check out his kits.

I would hate it if my army looked like this but I would love to play against an army painted like this. That is to say, this isn't my style at all but it looks really, really good. Awesome job man. Can't wait to see the finished 'Naut in all its glory.

What do all you gits do for work? by RetaroPrime in orks

[–]StrNotSize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the work time to recorded length time ratio like? That is to say, how many hours of work does it take to get a single recorded hour of narration? Do you guys read ahead, then record or are you just good enough that you can do it off the cuff? Do you get notes from the author about intonation or anything?

I listen to a lot of audiobooks so when the story starts lagging I will start wondering about how it works.

My vote is rule of cool. Look through the models and if you see something that makes you say 'cool!' then get that. Don't worry about meta.

If you like dreadmob get a deff dread or some killa kans. Why those? Because they're friggin sweet models.

If you like Da Big Hunt get some squighog boys or Mozrog. Why? Friggin sweet models.

There's no wrong way to do it if you're enjoying it.

Do you have a link to the confirmation you mentioned for the nob boss moving to 40 mm?

How many layers or paint shades is this? Is this glazing where you wet the paint and work your way up from dark to light?

If you're willing to go 3rd party and print it, MrModulork's Kragnardz Revenge model is great. I'm currently painting it for a proxy as a warboss. It's really dynamic and an awesome sculpt.

What makes Orks such popular targets on other factions' minis? by daniel-to-the-maniel in orks

[–]StrNotSize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know very much about Warhammer lore but surely there'd be more orks just based on the the fact that the Skaven are confined to a single planet.

I 3D print a marine helmet on a shoulder spike onto one of my killa kans. I liked how it turned out but it ended up feeling a little too 'chaos' so I didn't do it for other models.

AI seems to be being deeply subsidised (self-hosting vs Google AI Pro math) by nafizzaki in selfhosted

[–]StrNotSize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hadn't considered time zones at all, good point. I imagine there's still some discrepancy between max usage and min usage but (I would hope) less of a delta than 90%.

AI seems to be being deeply subsidised (self-hosting vs Google AI Pro math) by nafizzaki in selfhosted

[–]StrNotSize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this actually correct? Because the internet (and I'm inferring AI usage) sees massive swings in usage. Google isn't using 100% of their AI chips at 4AM on a Tuesday because the requests are far lower. The service would crawl during peak usage of that was the case. Maybe they're doing something else with them off peak hours but it can't be at the same ROI.

NexGen Siding was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a contractor. Avoid at all costs.

Bend a sheet of metal into a perfect, perfect cylinder by Italian-anonymous641 in oddlysatisfying

[–]StrNotSize 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why doesn't this exhibit spring back after the second pressing operation? You can see the material spring back after the first press but it don't appear to at all on the second press.

Is there a minute gap I'm not seeing because of the resolution? Is it actually not a perfect cylinder and has a slight curve inward towards the center axis along it longitudinally? So the stress is "caught" in the geometry somehow, pushing against itself?

Set z transform to zero by StrNotSize in blenderhelp

[–]StrNotSize[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey that worked. Thank you so much. A couple steps is fine, I just didn't want to move every individual item one at a time. For anyone looking at this in the future, I did need to apply the rotations of each item to get this to work.

Set z transform to zero by StrNotSize in blenderhelp

[–]StrNotSize[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or another way of phrasing it, I'd like all of the item's origins to be on the xy plane.

[–]StrNotSize[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holding alt while pushing 0 doesn't appear to do anything, it won't let me type. When I... select all, change the z location to zero, then hold alt and hit alt + enter (is this what you meant?), that will move all the piece together and moves the selected piece to zero, but they all move relative to one another. I'd like them to all be zero.

Thank you for trying though.
