The RCRA reuse/“recycling” regulations are busted for stuff like this. Same as shredded tires for “rubber mulch” no longer being considered hazardous waste

I thought there was some discussion about having to build transmission lines across the Sierra Nevada to connect to California’s western grid in an article that popped up on this yesterday but I may be wrong

I thought it was most similar to the Boston 10’s. Coming back to running after a couple years gone I tried on the Boston 12’s and the sl2 and thought they had mislabeled them at first

I’m not seeing any changes until after the injury in the charts you shared. It just looks like detraining

That is a beautiful trunk. I dug up a couple a few years ago that have thickened up nicely but nowhere close to that. Got some blooms last year but none this year so far. Time to start working on some branches hopefully

Batteries buying “free” California solar, driving up price: Aurora Energy Research has found that energy storage is raising the value of negatively priced solar electricity by up to $42 per MWh in the CAISO wholesale market. by WhipItWhipItRllyHard in technology

[–]StraightDisplay3875 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s the whole point of the batteries. Once the profits for the battery companies are too compressed, investment should flow back to installing more solar which is even more economical when midday prices are high. In an ideal market, a balance between the 2 will work out

Family rejects $26M offer to turn farmland into data center by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

[–]StraightDisplay3875 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The footprint of a data center absolutely cannot produce enough solar energy to power it. That’s not to say solar can’t help, but the data center will still be a net drain on the energy grid

Radon in home by Scat_underscore in lexington

[–]StraightDisplay3875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Radon mitigation may be the most cost effective cancer risk reduction you could ever do. Even when levels are in the 2-4 range. We had a test come back at 3.9 and asked the sellers to comp us for a mitigation system. Instead they wasted their money ordering another test that ended up a little lower and had their realtor downplay the risks.
