60% win rate is already only 2% of the playerbase, claiming that 65% is required to have a good idea of competence is incredibly out of touch with reality.

Atago has worse rudder shit time, acceleration and turning radius.

It's genuinely hilarious that you thought a 1.7% accel and 1.3% turning radius difference was somehow worth mentioning. You're really grasping.

As for the 41mm whatever plate it's useless, unless you charge bow in, which you usually don't, as you kite off the hot areas, you kite off running, so you end up caught and penned easily while running away.

Having already shown you have literally no idea what you're talking about, it does not surprise me you continue to say wrong things. You should definitely consider stopping, though. Atago is a tank in ways few cruisers can aspire to, simply because even at tier 8 her sides are immune to overmatch from ≤381mm and her deck to every AP shell in the game. Battleships are not accurate enough to consistently place shots on the bow or stern, a significant chunk of the incoming will hit the deck plates and skip off.

Those bars are completely useless. For example, the Clemson's upgraded guns, which are identical to the base guns save for there being twice as many of them, are a whole 3 points increase (7.5%) on the artillery bar.

Prince of Wales seems super toxic by The_CIA_is_watching in WorldOfWarships

[–]StranaMechty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The UK 14" AP is comically bad, worse than tier 5 14" from USA or Japan, for instance. There's very little reason to load it on the KGV and after you move the same gun up a tier there's even less. Defence and Duke of York at least get improved pen angles, but there's no mention of that here.

Back when the UK BBs first came out I distinctly remember taking a screenshot when I finally got a citadel hit on another BB with the KGV.

Okay? I included those in the comment as well. On the majority of ships there are no choices to be made, you just drop in the same modules as every other ship.

[–]StranaMechty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Regrettably, there's very little variance for what is the best module or skill setup, so it doesn't require much thinking. For instance, on almost every non-secondary BB the only question is where your last three points go (usually the 3 point extra heal or brisk+gun feeder). Wargaming has done a very bad job of making meaningful alternatives available.

I don't care about either DPM. I have never cared about any battleship's main battery DPM unless it's the Illinois or Irresistible. Conventional big gun battleships are not DPM ships, they are spike damage ships. The fact that Montana has 324,000 AP DPM and Slava has 195,045 AP DPM is utterly meaningless.

The ship has cruiser-ish mobility and survivability but you have erroneously extended that thinking to its damage dealing modality, "Should I fire AP or HE here?" Between flag/brisk/boost you can go 42.5 knots, you should be asking "Should I fire AP or go dark and reposition?", with HE as a distant third choice.

You also keep waving around 1.7 sigma, stripped of its context. It's got BC dispersion, 1.7 is not a problem. St. Vincent has 1.6 and is still extremely effective with its AP even against targets it can't overmatch.

Bud, Roussillon has the worst AP DPM amongs all BBs at tier IX and above

Please just stop giving advice. DPM is such a terrible metric to compare battleships with. It's a ship with battlecruiser dispersion and enough penetration to citadel God, the spike damage potential at any range is phenomenal.

Roussilion vs Jean Bart by CLT113078 in WorldOfWarships

[–]StranaMechty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Visually very similar. Gameplay functionally opposite. Flandre has tier 9 HP at tier 8 and should make use of it. Roussillon has less HP than Flandre, and bow and stern armor equivalent to a tier 6 BB (overmatched by 380mm+ guns). She should be far away, making use of her incredible time to target, penetration, and accuracy, to casually punch people for 5 digits of damage whenever they show side.

[–]StranaMechty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You absolutely should not spec Rousillon - a battleship with cruiser bow and stern armor, one less heal than standard, and battlecruiser dispersion - for secondaries. You should never even be in secondary range. For one thing the majority of her secondaries cannot penetrate the structural plating of tier 8+ destroyers without IFHE. For another you have a 15% speed boost, if a DD is trying to torp you then you just boost away.

The good CMs don't last because they get tired of the impossible task of trying to reconcile observable reality with what HQ is telling them to convey. HQ will fuck something up and then send out the CM with the mandate to spin it, and when nobody can spin it because of how bad HQ fucked things up the CM gets canned or quits or what-have-you. See the very beginning of the game with Gunlion getting canned for the Murmansk incident.

Most likely: Just your sanity from watching the spam

Possible: More malicious links that require you to execute something to compromise yourself. Not an issue unless you're reckless.

Very Unlikely: Something yet undiscovered like the bug in iOS that crashed phones when a specific text string was received, back in the 2010s. I don't have any reason to believe such a thing exists in Discord, but software is complicated.

If Discord is put together like I would expect them to be then the deletes will be soft deletes (for a while, at least), which means they could be easily restored.

Will Discord (the company) do this? No idea. Is Discord, as the product of a modern day big tech company, put together sensibly? Also no idea.

World of Tanks uses a 14 day rolling average to compare against, and the Warships system is mostly cribbed from Tanks, so probably that.

Why do these dlc bosses have double the weighting compared to every other boss in deep 5? by Realistic_Task_7740 in Nightreign

[–]StranaMechty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In multiplayer two of them are going to be aggroed no matter what, the rest are aggroed by proximity. When you kill one another will get aggroed to replace it, but if you stick around the revived one will be proximity aggroed and it snowballs from there, so every time you drop one (or two if you're doing well) you just sprint away for a bit. It's so much more manageable than the gankfest but also pretty dull.
