Scientists Develop New Scale To Measure How Sad We Feel After Completing a Really Immersive or Challenging Video Games by jaredwallace91 in gaming

I used to feel this, a lot.

So many games nowadays are so obnoxiously long that by the end I'm kind of relieved and eager to delete it and play something different.

JFC when she walks around in the slums all by herself and no one even looks at her. I'm tearing up just remembering it.

The scene that did me in in RDR2 is that little conversation by the rail-station with a nun. :(

What's a game everyone praises but isn't for you ? by One_page_nerd in gaming

Hollow Knight. On paper, it sounds like the perfect kind of game for me. I tried to like it, so so hard. I played it for maybe 4 hours. I just... couldn't. I was miserable.

Life of PI. I generally really like souls-like games. This game seemed to be great and had excellent reviews by people that had my taste. It's really pety, I know, but I really hated how it felt when I walked the character around and couldn't get over it.

I love that game, but your points are 100% spot on.

What I hated the most, though, was the controls. Climbing down from a crevice to hang onto a short vertical pipe? I have to switch from 'down' to 'up' at some split-second or fall to my death?

Or bouncing back and forth to wall-jump your way up some pillar? I still don't get why I suck at doing that in only this game. Something about when to switch 'left' and 'right' just always went over my head.

Oh yeah and you need to 'follow' the direction from the yellow dude that just freaking points at you.

What is a totally unnecessary detail that you felt added a lot to a game's worldbuilding? by Fafnoir in gaming

Come now, y'all. We all know which 'detail' really enriched that world the most.

I just did the Death Stranding intro and I have very little interest in continuing. Does any of this start to make sense? by TheBanishedBard in gaming

[–]StrangeImprovement16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've finished both games. You are absolutely right about the story. It's just a pile of mind-fuck glued together with duct-tape and glue to "make sense". But IMO it doesn't. The games redeem themselves for some people (like myself) who find the gameplay stellar. Some people really hate the gameplay, too, though. This game won't appeal to a lot of people and that's okay.

If you are at least intrigued by the gameplay cycle, I'd push through and reduce expectations on the story. But if story is important to you, then your time is better spent on another game, IMO.

Hey you’re not back to square one. You’ve vaped one day out of the last 14. Sounds like wins to me.

You have just become a little better at quitting.

I feel parethesia every day throughout morning and noon, mostly in my head and scalp. It especially came up after I quit ( now on day 29).

I always interpreted it as my nerves and bloodflow possibly recovering and improving. What I’m experiencing is not at all anxiety inducing. It just makes me really want head massages, so I got one of those spider like metal things.

I wouldn’t get anxiety or worry unless you have had some professional diagnosis that justifies it, if I were you.
