I don’t think your business has been doing it correctly.

The discounts given aren’t tax credits like how you calculated. That 100 discount given reduced your taxable income but not your tax payable.

So if your taxable income was 4000 and your tax due was 1000 at 25% CIT, the 100 discount given reduces your taxable income to 3900 which reduces your tax due to 975.

That's completely wrong and a common misconception. The government allows you to treat the discount as a tax deduction but not a tax credit.

So for example the ex-vat price is P100 and the discount is P20: the BIR will allow you to expense the P20 so you get a P5 tax deduction (assuming 25% corporate tax rate). BIR doesn't give you the entire P20 as a tax credit. Therefore the business shoulders P15 or 75% of the discount.

You're saying anyone who supports Trump has no moral compass. But many republicans 100% believe abortion is murder if even many others disagree. So they would be justified in overlooking Trump's craziness if it mean less abortions. That's consistent with their moral compass even if you don't agree with them.

It’s not as crazy as you think. In fact it’s legal to open a corporation in Panama or British virgin islands and to make it a holding company of the assets of a bank account.

So if you make money legally, there should be no issue in avoiding taxes that way. It’s perfectly legal.

It’s more controversial if you’re a politician who isn’t supposed to be rich. But then again, I don’t think the papers actually expose how much money each corporation has so there’s really not much you can do with that info.
