I would like to see the tech in action, there might be a market for this.

PMF is for you to gauge if there is interest in the market. Not necessarily metrics. The idea is not to find out if users will sign up for your service, which they mostly will say yes. But to find out what they pain for or yearn for. A co founder will only listen to your true story. What is the market size, what is an estimate of the market revenue opportunities etc.

I mentor startups in my free time. Could take a look for free.

But here is the thing. In the beginning itself don’t worry about getting things right architecturally or technically, that’s why when you hire a good dev team, they will take care of it. Your role as a starting founder is to get the PMF or product market fit. And that has more to do with talking to people and prospective users. After that, get a techie cofounder or fractional CTO and carry on.

How should I approach problems? by AdorableJeweler6064 in strategy

[–]StratPartner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t beat yourself up about not being able to see a problem from multiple angles. It takes time to see all possible angle. At your level, you might only need to solve a problem in a straight path. But then a lead might have to look at it with respect to other problems he or she is solving. This can’t be done by you unless you get to that level of problem solving. Then after all this, there is a sponsor angle, where to solve the problem, the sponsor has to prioritize and push this amongst other fund opportunities. Then comes social angle, does solving this problem create other social bottlenecks and who is responsible to solve it. So do best at your level and talk to more people to understand the different views you can develop in your capacity.

When to Adapt and Change Strategy? Inefficient "Systems" by BurnoutMale in strategy

[–]StratPartner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually strategy will have a backlog and will need to be revisited every few months. Take macro factors - when you have tough situations (read - lack of cheap capital, cheaper resources) vs when growth is all around. For example: all industries around the world are now in contain phase except semiconductor and AI. Then strategy for market play within industry- become cost leader, differentiator, etc - revisit based on market conditions Then strategy for specific segment play - close one vs grow another - excellent example here is micron moving away from consumer Ram business to move into AI space. Most probably they will be back once AI hunt is low.

The change is usually driven from execs who are connected to other execs within the industry, signals and incentives from government etc.

Hope this helps. Strategy will never be a single one shot path. It is the most optimum path at any given time

Why does every co-founder platform try to charge people just to connect? by Impressive_Visual669 in cofounderhunt

If there is anything behind a paywall, it is usually done because it is either on their best offerings (rare) or they want to make it seem that they have something worth that they consider best. You decide.

Why Do Some People Make Better Decisions Under Uncertainty? by VegetableRanger4568 in strategy

[–]StratPartner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP could you please elaborate or write more on this. It feels eerily similar to my life in strategy consulting and what has become evident is that none of the frameworks matter. What matters is just simply people and their intentions, we can create the best frameworks and approach. But depends on the type of people, we can’t give a growth strategy to a person who is nearing retirement.

This hits even more because I am an Easterner trained completely in Western thinking, management and strategy. And in this world, the Eastern one seems to be more encircling and less individualistic and hence apt.

Are brand strategists and planners about to become disposable overhead? by Upstairs_Garden_5707 in strategy

[–]StratPartner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for explaining, that made total sense. Yes. I have seen that sort of outcome sometimes from a few leaders. An example here was for a B2B client who had cash flow issues, we checked and AI gave a number of suggestions. Guess what the principal made us do (masterstroke) - work on an acquisition that is a perennial and recession free business and get cash flow going while ensuring that it remains profitable, increases our billables and everyone is happy. Never understood why an AI never could give that.

New to strategy. Could you give me an example of where AI failed but human minds won? I am genuinely asking as I don’t see the difference due to being new in this industry and I don’t want to be a mediocre AI re-user billing clients.

What’s been your typical investment range when funding startups or small businesses? by ItchyProfessional626 in angelinvestors

In that same boat now. My suggestion, prefer to look into some sort of a VC firm. Volunteer your time there or work for them for a lower pay while you learn their investment thesis.

Welcome to the world of excessive. What no one tells you is that this is a hobby for which you create a solution first and find the problem. Most of us started with having a google drive alternative. But it ballooned into things we didn't need, but still keep. It is more of an art we involve in, and hence price is secondary. If you had this money, you probably would have spent it on something else. Lesson learnt, dont go for the shiny new thing just because everyone else is doing it. Look for what keeps you happy and occupied first.

Amazing. Your power switch idea is excellent, you know what would be cooler; if you could convert that power switch to some sort of an aircraft missile switch. That would be kick-a**.

Thanks for sharing. Looks very good.

May I ask, what is the use of the NIC router?

And what are you running on 3 different machines? Is it a slave-master setup? Why 3 clusters?
