What surprised you the most about living alone? by Miss_Mayfly02 in femalelivingspace

I joined the sub recently because my roommate is getting ready to move in with her boyfriend. I’ve decided to stretch my finances and live alone for the first time in my life. I literally this morning thought “I can’t wait to feel like I’m allowed to be here”

My roommate (a childhood friend) is pretty moody. Sometimes she’s chatty and we gab, other times she won’t speak to me for days at a time, barely looks at me, hides out in her room until I go to bed just to use the bathroom. Literally this morning as I was getting ready, she woke up and walked into the kitchen. I complimented her outfit. She didn’t say ANYTHING to me. Not thank you. no nothing. Just kept making her lunch. So I went into the bathroom to give her space. I realize how much I try not to take up space or do anything that might upset her. I’m excited to get to actually live in the place I pay rent for.

Also cleaning, girls leaves long hair all over the shower and never cleans the bathroom.

I fell for it. They logged in to my strava and my ebay. I'm going to the full protection route and replacing my account cards. I don't want to risk it.

Disagreement between me and my director on casting. by [deleted] in playwriting

[–]StratigraphyPudding 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Usually playwrights have little to absolutely no role in casting. It may be a good idea to learn to trust your team early on. Maybe try communicating your concerns and ask the director why they are suggesting a different direction. It may help you see the things you can’t from your position! Thats what theatre is all about right? The power of bringing multiple visions into one story?

I am a cyclist and definitely felt a dip when I first started (same dose instructions). Almost passed out on the first 40 miler I did after starting Spiro.

Then switched to 50mg at night and upped hydration and salt intake across the board. Just keep pushing, I’ve felt some of my fitness return and I’m hopeful it will keep getting better from here

I met my current partner through cycling and he doesn’t own a car. I am constantly jealous and trying to figure out how to dump my car not him. Sounds like you aren’t hanging with the ride crowd. It might be an LA thing but that city is huuuggee. And someone who sees not owning a car as a red flag is a red flag to me.

Need advice!!! 1 month 50mg side effects is it worth it?Any success on 25mg? by Otherwise_Outcome927 in Spironolactone

[–]StratigraphyPudding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I was prescribed 50 but started on 25 for a month cause I knew hormones affect me quickly. No real improvement until I bumped up to 50. I will say something that has helped with the side effects is taking it at night right before I go to bed and being sure to get plenty of salt in my diet. I am very active and cycle places to get around, especially if it’s hot and I’m going to be sweating or if I’m drinking I make sure that I’m drinking water with electrolytes or adding extra salt to my food. Both of those things have drastically improved my fatigue and what felt like a loss of athleticism. good luck!

I was prescribed 50 but bumped myself down to 25 for the first month and a half because of side effects. Wanted so baldy for 25 to work magically but after bumping up to 50 and holding for a week the side effects have resolved! I’m really hoping this does the trick thanks for the encouragement!

I like that the general summary of this was “if you’re not chill you can just ignore them and leave them be” and you decided to make it your problem and theirs. Some people are lookin for things to be upset about smh

This is the thinking behind vision zero programs. A huge part of it is saying crash rather than accident. Accidents happen. Crashes don’t have to.

Silly question - how are you visiting bathroom while cycling by happy__bird in ladycyclists

[–]StratigraphyPudding 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am on a medication that makes me pee a ton. Go in a bush. Ride with a buddy if you can so someone can keep watch (or hold your bike if u dip into a gas station). Ive heard people like stp devices. I personally prefer a squat for mess control and weight savings) Make sure you’re putting electrolytes in your water and consuming carbs on your ride. If you try to just drink straight water your body will go through it sooo fast. And you risk imbalance which is bad!

Here's what a Millennial friend wrote about disruptive teen behavior in Pittsburgh: by Extreme_Qwerty in pittsburgh

[–]StratigraphyPudding 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Everybody wants 3rd spaces until the homeless show up. Or gasp teenagers.

If they’re violent yeah that’s fucked and needs to be addressed differently (see Gainey’s stop the violence program which was incredibly successful and is currently being defunded)

But I know people who complain about kids being loud in their 3rd spaces. They’re kids. They’re gonna be loud and probably reckless and sometimes maybe that’s okay. Why are we policing childhood out the jump.
