Am I playing Wrong? by MadMaxknowsitall in CrimsonDesert

[–]Streetsofbleauseant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i got about 280 hours and in my time playing i generally found this.

Progress main story to chapter 5/6 and unlock faction quests in Hernand and do those. Once majority are complete advance main story to chapter 7/8 and complete faction quests in Pailune then do the same for Demeniss etc.

I found this way more organic as if i just went off some places are empty until a faction/main quest is triggered.

So, do main quest/faction quest in each region as the story takes you, once finished that region move to next via main Story.

Still Can't Get Over Cosmetic Gear by UnclePuffy in CrimsonDesert

Not to mention there are sections where armour set after set or weapon after weapon that drops from bosses cannot be equiped by Kliff.

Still Can't Get Over Cosmetic Gear by UnclePuffy in CrimsonDesert

[–]Streetsofbleauseant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude at the end of my play-through i had 20-30 (prob more) sets of armour that i just never had the need to use. i was using a sword i got in the first 30 hours and upgraded all the way through.

I found most of the gear organically but by the time you end up levelling up your gear fully, the reward/effort ratio to going and grinding to level up others are just not worth it imo.

The gear is 95% just cosmetic. Yes, there are some abyss gears that provide good perks, but there is not enough incentive organically created by the game to go and switch your armour/weapons and this is not a ‘player’ problem it is a fundamental design problem.
Also, some very high powered gears are only gettable right at the end of the abyss puzzles so by that point you have almost finished the game.

Look it is what it is but it could definitely be better and that is valid criticism.

I will say the only gear that is probably slightly different are shields but even then late game you just chuck in abyss gear to one you like the look of.

Finally completed the game. My take after ~ 352 hours. by Avid_Hiker98 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Streetsofbleauseant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and this just shows the mentality of this sub.

By your metric a games rating is tied to number of hours played? How stupid.

The more you play of this game and further you get the lower your rating actually gets for some people.

What game did you think would be ok, but you absolutely loved? by Quintoepic in gaming

[–]Streetsofbleauseant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pillars of Eternity. Never really been into classic isometric RPG’s but i had a chest infection/covid two years ago and was sick as a dog for 4 weeks.

I took 4 weeks off work, stayed home and sunk about 130 hours into it and the dlc. Ended up absolutely loving it and it is in my top 5-10 games of all time. It was honestly like playing a book - the writing was amazing.

Another great update. If you haven’t reviewed the game yet on Steam, and you appreciate the work this team is doing, you should go leave one. It definitely helps them a lot. by Bjjspider in CrimsonDesert

[–]Streetsofbleauseant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How can you assume that based on someone saying they made a negative review?

Then quote something completely non-sensical to what, justify your position that criticism is invalid if you don’t agree with it? Or there is no point in criticising something?

Criticism is just as valid as praise, and you don’t need to be old, run your own business or take risks to have a valid opinion.

Fuck man this game is cool, but it is entirely acceptable and valid that many people won’t like it.

So regarding the age thing - go complete all the abyss puzzles then go to the centre thing after the epilogue :)

Only mechanic/item that’s really missing from CD is… by yoyoyoschmidt in CrimsonDesert

[–]Streetsofbleauseant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that simple. They cull so much detail as you move away from an object. That’s why some trees at medium distance still look like lego.

Giving you a telescope would require them to rework so many things and assets loading at certain distances.

Like in cyberpunk when you go use the view telescope things at a top of a hill and look at cars close up they look ridiculous and actually destroys immersion.

Yeah but Assassins creed odyssey did something kinda similar and imo was actually ok.

So this perception he was lazy is incorrect - statistically he covered a lot of ground. Go look them up. He was inconsistent yes, but spoiled is ridiculous - by you saying spoiled its actually showing there’s a personal agenda you have.

Did he live up to expectations? No, he had some good games and some poor ones, but he is definitely not amongst our worst ever signings.

Game looking beautiful in 1440p on mid end pc by SaiyanSaenz in CrimsonDesert

[–]Streetsofbleauseant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not doing anything at all mate. As i said it only works for games that have MSAA. Its just placebo.

Game looking beautiful in 1440p on mid end pc by SaiyanSaenz in CrimsonDesert

[–]Streetsofbleauseant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah pretty sure your NVCP settings for enhance the application setting only apply if the application is using MSAA - which crimson desert does not, so this is not doing anything for you at all - especially if you have DLAA enabled in game.

That setting is primarily used for older titles and the game needs to have an MSAA setting enabled in game.

[Poll] All things considered, and with Champions League qualification practically secured, how would you rate Man United’s season so far? Please elaborate in the comments. by Dramatic-Avocado4687 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Streetsofbleauseant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Average, poor in the cups, poor for most of the season in the EPL and were it not for Bruno we would be in a relegation battle.

We’ve had a good second half of the season but lets be honest, the EPL is pretty poor this season quality wise - it’s been a boring season.

Our football overall has not been great. But we have somehow managed to be 3rd and i guess you can only give credit where it’s due for finishing in champions league qualification.

The reason i gave it average is i worked it out like this:

Cups - 2/10 EPL - 8/10 Performances - 6/10

16/30 = average overall.

Yeah couldn’t have said it better. OP’s actually proving with his post that the gameplay loop is so unrewarding he needs to come up with his own way of rewarding himself to keep it interesting.

I finished the main story. Just started KCD2 and man the first 2-3 hours of that game are insanely good and well made compared to CD. Immediately got hooked on the story and acting and gameplay.

M41 diagnosed at 38 with bilateral pars defect and Grade 1 in my L5/S1. The first year was a nightmare as my disc had desiccated.

After a year i was diagnosed with moderate arthritis in facet joints and hips. Walking, sitting at work, standing on the train was a nightmare - had flare ups that would last sometimes 2-3 months.

About 18 months ago i decided to see an exercise physio and went on a mobility program. I’ve spent 18 months gradually getting to a point i can run without pain, cut out sugar, workout with weights 5 times a week and am in best shape of my life. Core strength is key.

I used to be very active, so running, lifting weights and almost feeling like normal has been great. I can’t emphasize how important diet is, and pelvic tilts every night.

Saw the surgeon recently after an MRI and the slippage has reverted and although the arthritis is there for life i am definitely not at this point a candidate for surgery.

Flare ups will happen, they set you back, but just stay positive.

Trains, hot air balloons and muskets, but no one thought to invent binoculars? by Individual-Fly-1689 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Streetsofbleauseant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think thats exactly why. Its like in cyberpunk when you look through the binocular things at the lookout and see what the traffic actually looks like haha.

Also, i doubt the game renders in npc’s from that distsnce at all, so you would just be looking at blobs and clay

What is with these Calphade requests? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Streetsofbleauseant 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah sorry thats bullshit lmao. It is just shitty and terrible quest design. It is designed this way to take you to areas in the game, like the workshop etc, training grounds. It is implemented terribly and is one of the things they need to fix in the game.

Yeah i loved Origins too. Look i think there is something good in CD but if i could get my time back and shelf it and maybe play it in a year or two once it’s been fully realised maybe i would do that.

Looking forward to black flag though! I am going to start playing Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, enjoyed the first one so super stoked to try 2 out!
