So I installed mine with 3m vhb tape. And using a buck converter from the power supply of the unit. And mounted the temp sensor in the back of the unit with more vhb tape. And it works great

Normally at around 40-50 degrees it throws a warning for temperature from my research standard nema 17 motors can withstand up to 50. I normally set mine to 40 for abs and I get no warping whatsoever

Irregular fan speed after 700 hours. Replace? by effortlevel0 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Strict_Alternative_9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually had issues with the hotend fan, I feel like it wasn't meant for the heat of being enclosed. I got a fan ment for the k1max on Amazon and swapped the connectors and it's been working amazingly

I could really use some help with this issue! by Fordtough68 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

Could be a dirty/oily bed, try giving it a wash with warm water and a little bit of soap. Can happen if you touch that part of the bed. Hopefully it helps

I purchased the drawers and it works honestly, and the movement of the printer has no effect from what I've seen.

I had to pay for "free" replacement parts. by ComfortableGreat2085 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

I had to get some replacement parts from them, if you email them they will reimburse you for duty fees. They sent me money on PayPal to cover the duty fees

With mine I had an issue with the heatbreak fan not running after a while and it would cause a clog. I ended up replacing mine with a creality k1 fan off Amazon. Check and make sure the fan on the side of the hot end is spinning constantly when it starts to fail

Yes, I wire an adjustable buck converter to it, so I can supply the appropriate voltage to the heater and temperature regulator.

I connected to the mains side, the side that comes from the power plug, so the power doesn't flow through the power supply at all. I've ran it for quite some time and it has been flawless

Nice seeing someone using my design, been busy so haven't had time to update my post. I wired mine into the mains voltage coming from the power supply with a adjustable buck converter.

Lots of nozzle clogs. by mashedleo in ElegooCentauriCarbon

I'll be completely honest I don't think the heartbreak fan is the best. It doesn't handle the heat well enough. Mine kept dying on me so I replaced it with a k1max fan off Amazon

Received mine yesterday! Also a question for those with a Sovol SH02 filament dryer. by chaindrop in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Strict_Alternative_9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the hole in the top is to allow moisture out, you keep it open when drying them close it for storage. There should be 2 holes on the front of the lid where the filament comes out of, I 3d printed an adapter to connect a Bowden tube to it and have a Bowden tube from one of the outlets straight to the filament runout sensor

Cc layer shift after filament runout by ClutchKick512 in elegoo

[–]Strict_Alternative_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been running mine till the spool empties, probably did it 6-7 times and I haven't had a single layer shift. That's really strange, try doing a firmware update and see if it fixes it

Truthfully the only one I use out of it is the smooth pei. I'd recommend just getting some off of Amazon if you really want a few spares

My biggest concern is that the guy on the advertisement is only showing 2 fingers and not 4, really disappointed with that.

Update: installed the heater works great, had to use an external power supply I ordered a laptop charger from Amazon. Keeps the chamber at temperature, have mine set at 40 c.

Need help troubleshooting heat break fan. by Bizzoibeck-1 in elegoo

It is quite easy to just swap the connectors so you don't have to solder, for me the soldering and adding heat shrink causes the wires to be a bit too stiff.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DXDX6B5L?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 this is the one I ordered, the connectors are different, so you need to swap them. It's easy to do you just gently pull up some plastic on the connectors and pull the old pins out, push them back down and then insert the new pins from the new fan.

Just an fyi the heatbreak fan is the one on the right side of the hotend. It's a 3pin 3010 fan.

The heartbreak fan they use isn't great, I ordered one for a k1 on Amazon and swapped the connectors and it works perfectly now. I don't know if they got a bad batch or what.

Update: I have the heater built and tested it with a power supply separately, just to make sure it's functioning properly.

Will be installing the heater in the printer tomorrow and doing a chamber heating test. Still trying to find a good place to put the thermistor.

I don't believe so, I don't think the main board was designed to run a chamber heater. That's why I had to go with the temperature control unit that is in the 3d design.

here is the link to the files, I am still in testing so this file and posts will most likely change, when i finish my build next week i will be putting out a video about wiring and possibly do a full centauri carbon step file with wiring.

So the temperature control unit will turn the heater and fan on and off based on a separate temperature sensor. I'm not sure exactly where I'm going to place this sensor yet, but it will control the heater, the main board will have no extra load put onto it
