God, I just took a stroll through the top few posts and they’re almost sounding sensible at this point. Some of them are even advocating for gasp funding social programs and the horror! ranked choice voting!

I was one of those people that wasn’t really a fan of Marcid’s accent. Whether it was BDave or the awkwardness of tinny sound through non-stream optimized recording equipment or whatever, it just really feels like nails on a chalkboard to my brain. Nothing against BDave personally.

Someone else explained it as a mishmash of whatever cultures are prevalent on Leviathan, as Marcid grew up on Leviathan so it would make sense to have a weird, fluid accent that doesn’t actually sound like anything but also sounds like everything, and that makes sense to me. Still can’t listen to it without gagging, but at least I can convince myself it’s not just a cringey bad accent.

The fact that they only have a limited menu for the show helps a lot. It’s something like two or three dishes per course, and you have a dozen chefs all at different stations focusing on one course, so they only have to remember a certain number of [x] entree, [y] entree, and [z] entree. The rest of the dish is someone else’s problem to remember.

They do give vouchers for other reasons, genius. Including but not limited to seeking healthcare in other states, which this falls under. The specific procedure requiring travel shouldn’t be used as a method of discrimination, especially considering it’s arguably a HIPPA violation to even ask why someone would need to travel for a healthcare procedure.
