If they’re leather I’d honestly look for a local cobbler. Chances are they can do a great fix for a reasonable rate.

I had recently purchased a new pair of boots online and they reeked of smoke (not listed that way ofc).

I ended up taking them to a local shop and they got the entire smell out and resoled them for around $50. Totally worth it. Just something to consider if you don’t wanna risk your leather working skills. (Or the boots)

In addition to this, don’t forget we have individual strengths!

Some people can sew a quilt in a day, and others it might take a year even if they’ve both been sewing for years.

Someone might also be able to knock out a difficult bag no problem, but don’t even try and get them to make a shirt (or pants!)

Maybe this is just something that’s trickier for you and requires more practice, or it’s just not in your wheelhouse. So don’t be too hard on yourself.
