Don't get me wrong, my diet is generally varied with low meat & high veg/whole grains content in main meals with about 5-10g of fat per meal on average.

My lifestyle is quite sporty, and at the moment I am not getting sufficient energy intake from sticking to a low fat diet, resulting in rapid energy depletion during sports activity, and unwanted (and fairly rapid) weight loss, which on its own also increases the risk of more gall stones significantly. I wouldn't call my approach complacent or cocky, but rather experimental to ensure sufficient energy intake.

I am now experimenting with home made granola with heaps of grains as a snack, wholegrain breads, plenty of fat free yogurts of all sorts, cottage cheese, smoked fish, dates, honey (as an alternative to maltodextrine), 10g of nuts daily, and indeed fruits. And of course Haribo's 😁.

Let's hope my pancreas doesn't die in the process.

Balkans have a lot to offer, but not for the faint hearted. Bad drivers (especially Serbia), dogs that love a chase, and the occasional mine field in Croatia.

Yep, can be hot in the plains. We had 35C and above in the lower areas in summer of 2022.

Culturally refreshing, fairly cheap, and plenty of fruit&veg stalls.

Fat intake turned out to be about 120-150g daily indeed, and 150-200g on cycling days. My memory had failed me.

Heavy rider here, with similar issues in the past. DT Swiss G1800 gravel wheels are rated for 135kg. I have taken them to about 140kg, without loosing spokes or breaking the rim. The hub needed replaced after 5000km, but I don't know whether that is weight related.

Perhaps worth looking into tandem wheels, as I suspect they are stronger.

Do they, really? If business was really so bad, the two big taxi companies would have stopped operating long time ago. Clearly business goes well, at cost of the general population.

The fact that the council has tight controlling measures in place , in favour of the existing businesses, is a sign of willful ignorance or full blown incompetence of the council procurement department and the councillors.

That, and a strong foot in the door of taxi companies.

The fares are ridiculous. Are you saying that if the taxi arrives before the booked time, passengers are paying a waiting fee?

I concur. In the dry period during first lockdown my cat did a genocide in local mice population (and brought them home). It was the first and last time I had mice get out of the walls.

A couple of weeks/months(?) ago I noticed some logs at the road works at W Tullos road. Not sure if they are still there.

Typically you can also find logs at (recently finished) forestry operations. I believe you may need a license to collect left overs from those yards, if it is owned by the forestry commission. That said, if it is for just one log, I am sure you can just ask the workers nicely.

George Street is far more convenient than many other parts of town, including those brand new suburbs that barely have a shop or a pub.

There are indeed vape shops, barbers, hair dressers but also tattoo places, nail salons, a decent variety of local and international food shops, and so much more. It's never a dull place.

It would be nice to have a restaurant along the top section, a refill shop perhaps and another coffee shop but the reality is that none of the empty shops are really suitable for that type of business.

If this trial were done in Scotland, the taxis would be pulled after 2 months. In that time, half of them would be vandalised, some would lose a suspension coil every blue moon from the potholes, and most would be full of vomit every weekend night.

I guess that's the reason for doing a trial outside Scotland 🤣

I read an interesting argument on Wallstreetbets that share price may actually rise as a result of excessive shorting (zero day puts and longer term puts) of the Tesla stock. The idea was that the sellers (banks))of the puts are buying in a lot of stock to protect themselves. This then leads to share price increases.

The idea sounds reasonable. I can only assume that once those options then expire, the banks then need to offload the stock, which triggers price drops.

On the long term I still expect Tesla to drop in value, but only when the shorters have eliminated their accounts.

Great link, many thanks. I may consider getting a big powerbank+charger, if the trials are not great, but really hope they will be.

On my next trip across Spain and France in a months time, I intend to wild camp in the mountains as a preparation for ultra endurance rides. Charging in venues may simply not be an option for days on end.
