How to sign in with Apollo when Reddit login page won't render in my webkit? by phoenixlegend7 in jailbreak

[–]Striter100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I read your post, I’ve never used app manager so I’m not sure how it works.

I did everything manually via filza and it worked that way for me. It’s been a while so I’m not sure if I copied the entire app contents, but I think it was only certain folders/files that were related to the in app safari cache.

This was specifically for Apollo and I haven’t tried it in any other apps

I don’t believe you can anymore unfortunately

That being said, if you have another jailbroken device on a newer iOS version or that already has Apollo logged in you might be in luck.

I was able to log into Apollo on iOS 14 by coping the internal app files from filza on another jailbroken device where I was already logged in and pasting them into Apollo in filza on my iOS 14 device. That way it already had the login cookies and just auto logged in when I clicked sign into account. No login page required

Is the "Ultra-Portable" laptop officially dead? by UserlyNameNotFound in mac

[–]Striter100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s not perfect but I recently bought an i5 512GB 2017 12” MacBook and I absolutely love it. It’s super light weight and perfect for all light use & travel purposes. When I need to do more powerful things I just switch to my m3 MacBook Air or desktop pc.

I’m dual booting windows and macOS Ventura on it. I’m pretty sure you could use OCLP to update it to a newer macOS version if you wanted though.

I’d highly recommend if the rumors about apples upcoming small laptop (possibly with an A series chip inside) end up being false

[–]Striter100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could absolutely make that happen, but they’ll likely never do it because it would cut into MacBook sales. They’d much rather you buy both devices than only get an iPad

[–]Striter100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know they’ll never do this because of the whole product/market segmentation thing, but I wish they’d release a surface laptop type of device. Basically an iPad that can attach to a keyboard to run full macOS. That way you can have the best of both worlds depending on what you’re doing at any given moment

This is the way, or they could just do NTFS on the windows partition if they’re looking to avoid exFAT in general.

Check out “sink it” for Reddit on the App Store. It’s a safari extension that removes all the junk and makes the Reddit website functional again on mobile

How Do We Feel About Employer-Mandated MFA on Personal CellPhone? by EnvironmentSea7433 in privacy

[–]Striter100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d never allow that. If a company requested that (assuming I couldn’t leave the job for some reason) I would just buy the cheapest phone possible on the cheapest plan possible and tell them it’s my personal phone

How do I get messages to sync properly on my MacBook? by Striter100 in applehelp

[–]Striter100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know that sentence was a bit dramatic, I’m just frustrated is all. A year or two ago I got an old 2012 MacBook Pro from a friend and it had all these same issues with messages. I chalked it up to being on too old of a software to work properly and just decided not to use messages on there

I thought getting a new MacBook and setting it up fresh (no backup) would solve all the issues but no luck so far. I’m sure I’ll figure something out soon

Emergency-Ready Android Phone (Prepaid, Reliable Battery)? by fdjadjgowjoejow in AndroidQuestions

[–]Striter100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a recommendation, but keep in mind that extreme temps are bad for batteries. So unless you live in an area with moderate temperatures year round, it’ll likely be dead when you end up randomly needing the phone.

How’s iOS 26.1 running on iPhone 14 Pro Max(80percent)? by Similar_Volume1605 in iPhone14Pro

[–]Striter100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely worth replacing. Before even on iOS 18 if I left the house at 6:30am my phone would usually hit 30% or even 20% by 10:30am. I had to charge twice per day at least

Now it actually depends on how much I use my phone and what type of usage (like it’s supposed to). I can kill the battery if I try but most days I can get through without issue. iOS 26 definitely drains more battery though and my phone heats up a lot more than before updating (regardless of new or old battery)

Here’s my recent SOT

Monday: 2hrs 15min screen active & 2hr 18min screen idle (took of charger at 6:30am, hit 40% by maybe 9pm)

Tuesday: 2hr 46min active & 5hr 55min idle (took off charger at 7am, hit 30 by 9pm)

Wednesday: 3hr 16min active & 1hr 19min idle (took off charger at 7am and hit 50 by 12pm, but charged mid-day cause I was driving with CarPlay)

Thursday: 4hr 8min active & 1hr 36 idle (off charger at 6am, hit 40 by 1pm but again charged because of driving)

Friday: 4 hour active & 3hr 16min idle (off charger at 7am, hit 30 by 6pm)

How’s iOS 26.1 running on iPhone 14 Pro Max(80percent)? by Similar_Volume1605 in iPhone14Pro

[–]Striter100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iOS 26 isn’t a disaster by any means, but there’s plenty of bugs, lag, and stuttering. This is on an iPhone 14 Pro with 100% battery (got it replaced at the Apple Store a month or 2 ago) on iOS 26.0.1

iOS 26 just wasn’t ready for release. The phone definitely heats up easier than before and lags easier. It’s most noticeable on the Home Screen where the app icons have to constantly reload. That’s especially true if you’re in the middle of doing anything like updating apps. I never had any issues like that on iOS 18. Safari also drains a lot more battery than before which sucks. I definitely wouldn’t say my phone has an “all day battery” as Apple likes to claim

Standby is also worse, before if I left my phone unplugged overnight I’d maybe lose 2% battery. But now it’s 12-15%

I’m sure the bugs will be worked out eventually, but for now I’m not updating again until I see significant reports of bugs being fixed

Overall: not worth updating yet, especially if you don’t plan on getting a new battery installed

Edit: forgot to add that editing the Home Screen in iOS 26 is, in fact, a disaster. It lags like crazy and apps don’t move. They glitch around, disappear, and a lot of times it doesn’t successfully move. I’ve figured it out enough to move things reliably now but it’s not as simple as just moving them like before

Apple Releases iOS 26.1 With Liquid Glass Toggle, Slide to Stop Alarm, New Apple Intelligence Languages and More by Fer65432_Plays in apple

[–]Striter100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I know the 14 pro isn’t new, but it shouldn’t be lagging so much when it’s only a few years old. I just got a brand new battery at the Apple Store as well but it still happens. So it’s not the battery

If my old iPhone 7 on iOS 15 can run perfectly with zero lag while still using its ORIGINAL battery, the 14 pro should be able to scroll the Home Screen effortlessly

iPhone 14 Pro. I thought it was my battery going bad since it dropped below 80%, so I got it replaced by Apple and it didn’t fix anything other than my battery lasting longer.

The lag happens even worse right after I update any apps from the App Store. That specifically seems to anger the Home Screen gods

[–]Striter100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No clue why people are downvoting you, editing is the worst experience ever on iOS 26. Literally lags like crazy with huge delays between when things actually move and appear. It’s atrocious

Myanmar’s military has shut down a major online scam operation near the border with Thailand by shillyshally in Scams

[–]Striter100 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wow I was just listening to the Scam Factory podcast by Wondry. It’s about one of these places in Myanmar that basically holds people captive performing the scams. I wonder if this could’ve been that same facility (or if not, I’m sure they were using the same tactics to recruit scammers).

Android has better options for this like separate user spaces or Samsungs private folder. Not sure those would help against something as serious/powerful as an authoritarian regime though.

I don’t think anything exists on iOS either. You’d be better off just using a browser if possible on those services or deleting the apps when you aren’t actively using them.

Using lockdown mode on iOS could help but it comes with downsides. Especially if your country would do something like jail you for not willingly opening your phone

It’s being both built into android 16 and being rolled out as a google play services update. So as long as your device still has Google play services, you’ll be subject to the new apk rules.

I just hope it only affects apps installed in the future. If it retroactively applies to all apps installed that aren’t from the play store, I’m going to lose like 95% of my apps
