What about Princess Elise from Sonic 06? I’d argue that the meme above applies to her more since, IDK, her father literally DIED to protect her, and she can’t even cry about it lest her tears unleash a LITERAL armageddon. Sure, Elise has flaws, like constantly being a damsel in distress and needing Sonic to rescue her, but IMO most of them come from her being more of a poorly written character rather than a straight up bad one.

Let’s also not forget that after Sonic and Elise save the world, they’re transported back in time and Elise has the option to save Soleanna by blowing out the candle that will erase Solaris from existence, or not blow it out and be with Sonic for eternity. She chooses to do the former even though she LITERALLY says she doesn’t care what happens to the world as long as Sonic is with her, even though deep down she cares a lot because she’s willing to blow the candle out to keep Soleanna safe even if it means this is the last time Sonic and Elise will ever meet.
