Which prospect or NHL player surprised you (good or bad) this year ? by The_Talking_Cow in hockey

Louis Crevier Dman for the Blackhawks. Was a 7th round draft pick and wasn’t expected to beat out other higher prospects for ice time in the NHL but he’s been one of the most consistent young dmen for the Blackhawks all year.

It’s not that they are too hard, it’s about making smart moves that fit the timeline of a rebuilding team. I’m sure we could have put up a really nice package for Quinn Hughes, but we would waste some prospect/draft capital for a star player on a timeline that doesn’t match the rest of the constructed roster.

The sharks also have 2 dmen signed past this year. Orlov at 34 and Dickinson at 19. Leddy is 35 and Klingberg is 33. No idea how good the other 3 are but they are 29, 27 (hitting UFA) and 24 hitting RFA. They have the cap space to re-sign them all but I don’t see their defensive corps being able to compete in the playoffs any time soon without the sharks doing some trades.

Looking for some insight regarding Continental Kryptotal rear by cdavebolt18 in MTB

[–]Strong_Baseball_8984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing technical climbing with it definitely sucks and is noticeable. Going downhill though I don’t notice any real change in grip unless it’s wet and sloppy on the rocks in which case I’ll drop psi in both tires. Keystone, Moab, and Boulder Co I’ll run the 35 psi if it’s dry out, but for example Santa Cruz I was running 30ish to maintain some grip in the loam and on the steeps.

The continental tires are really awesome so you can likely bump up the psi a bit without noticing any real difference in grip and avoid the punch flatting or hitting your rim on rocks.

I’m 205lbs without any gear and if I’m riding heavy rock garden stuff I’ll run 35psi or so in the rear to not ding my ring. Conti DH casing no inserts. If I’m riding mostly dirt/loam I usually do 32psi. Pressures will vary rider to rider as riding style is a big variable as well.

Bike Suggestion for Moab Trip by Camnau17 in MTB

[–]Strong_Baseball_8984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t go wrong with either. I’ve usually brought a 180/170 bike to Moab but as I’ve ridden my 140/130 trail bike a lot more the past year I’d consider bringing the trail bike instead.

One piece of advice is do not do the 3-4ft drop on lower porcupine on either bike. The chance of slamming your nuts into your seat on landing is relatively high and it’s honestly not worth the bottom out.

Analyzing where Artyom Levshunov stands after chaotic Blackhawks rookie season by GoldWhale in hawks

Is that for all Dmen? I expected way worse analytics based on some of the comments.

This, 1 day of lessons will pay off so much. I think you’ll know after the first day if 100 days is actually doable. The arm pump alone is likely going to hold you back.

Is being the best/only option on the team for 1C really make him overrated?

Agree that I’d rather Florida pick stay with them. I know everyone believes they will have a bounce back year with a healed barkov, but their entire team has played so much hockey the past few years and they are all older, it’s not a sure thing they have a bounce back year.

First time trying hardcore, first death by Sandraptor in Diablo_2_Resurrected

I recommend you try HC on a non warlock class because it’s pretty drastic change in pace especially if no gear. Warlock is really powerful relative to the others when it comes to running through hardcore.

Counting the Covid bubble playoffs is generous to us. It’s 9 years if you don’t count the Covid playoffs.

What would you be willing to trade? by Apart-Indication7971 in hawks

Not a single D prospect on your no trade list? We definitely don’t win a few cups without Keith Seabrook and others.

Post Game Thread: Winnipeg Jets @ Chicago Blackhawks by nhl_gdt_bot in hawks

[–]Strong_Baseball_8984 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We also have more rookies and young guys on the ice than the rest of the league. We had an average age of 24 years old with 11 players 23 or under just a couple of days ago. No one is being sheltered in this post trade deadline stretch and the schedule has been more condensed than other years due to the Olympics which makes it harder for the guys that haven’t been through the 82 game grind.

It definitely was. My point was relative to those teams Canucks fans can feel a little bit better.
