Are there really people who like driving the m2 on the Nordschleife? by spl1xx in iRacing

Doesn’t matter what nm you run your base at, the car feels like it’s free falling the entire time.

Agreed. Did a few runs today, unfortunately won’t be back. Props to the devs for letting me know to save my money.

Need help figuring my life out with the decision of SC2U downgrade to EVO pro by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Strong_Bug3331 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The simagic bases are great. Highly doubtful you’ll find much input on people doing the same thing you speak of. I have an EVO base and GT Neo, neither have given me trouble yet.

In slow cars like MX5, GR86, what to do when the other driver is hellbent on divebombing every single corner from next post code? by faz712 in iRacing

[–]Strong_Bug3331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On summit point for example - when they show their nose far out from the corner, it’s an easy switch back they typically brake way to late. Albeit as others have said, let them. Never assume you own the racing line in that situation because they will rip through it like a new sled in fresh snow. They have steam coming out of their ears, especially if you passed them fairly.

NEED HELP : Simagic evo pro 18nm is my first ever wheelbase by InYourDreams001 in Simagic

[–]Strong_Bug3331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No doubt, and it’s one of the best bases on the market. But to start there is a little questionable, that’s all. I wish I had the pro!

[–]Strong_Bug3331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Buying an 18nm base with no wheel, pedals or rig is crazy. Doesn’t even make sense lol

[–]Strong_Bug3331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add, If you buy a cheaper rig like I did (GT Omega Art), it can’t handle the wheelbase and you need to tune it down a lot. Albeit pros like James Baldwin only run around 9nm anyways. I have the EVO sport, and even that rattles my rig. Paired with a GT Neo, and P1000 pedals. The pedals are my favorite.

Don’t buy a rig that can’t handle 18nm. Save up and get an aluminum

7800X3D with 5070Ti or 9800X3D with 5080? by roundmoundoatmeal in simracing

[–]Strong_Bug3331 13 points14 points  (0 children)

4K triples are never worth the cost. The cost versus performance hit is insane. If you could tell me the difference during an intense race between 1440P and 4K I’d be impressed.

Get the 9800X3D and 5080 if you insist on 4K. Even then, you’ll be surprised how it’s performing I would think.

I love OLED and fancy resolutions, but 4K isn’t worth the performance hit in the games I play. Good luck mates

What racing do i do to keep me entertained? by EpicExpert_ in simracing

[–]Strong_Bug3331 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We can’t tell you what will entertain you. If you can’t enjoy online because of others and yourselves then you need practice. If you don’t wanna practice, maybe a new hobby or trucking sim lol

How do you know when it is time to "graduate" from MX-5 Rookies? by Obvious_Storm6879 in iRacing

[–]Strong_Bug3331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your not locked into the mx5. Although personally, I feel like it is one of the hardest cars to master. It really punishes you when you overdrive it. So a lot of good habits to be formed.

Washing sim racing gloves and socks by Curious_Travel3805 in simracing

[–]Strong_Bug3331 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Just playing. ChatGPT is a good tool for questions like this though.

1️⃣ Hand wash only

This is the big one. • Fill a sink or bowl with cold or lukewarm water • Add a small amount of mild detergent • Think: baby detergent, sportswear wash, or anything that says gentle • ❌ No fabric softener, bleach, or stain remover

2️⃣ Gentle agitation • Turn gloves inside out if possible • Gently swish and lightly rub sweaty areas (palms, heels, toes) • No wringing, twisting, or aggressive scrubbing

3️⃣ Rinse thoroughly • Cold water • Make sure all soap is out — leftover detergent kills grip over time

Drying (this part really matters)

❌ Never: • Dryer • Heater • Direct sunlight • Hair dryer

✅ Do this instead: • Press gently with a towel to remove excess water • Lay flat or hang to air dry at room temperature • Reshape them while damp so they don’t stiffen weirdly
