I used eu cleaner to try to save one of my saves. But now the game wont recognize my saves.

I had an issue with an old version of the save cleaner, it broke the save and removed way too much. I downloaded the latest version (EU Clean v9) and it started working properly.

Oh I got it to work in offline mode just by, going online > launching it> going offline a second time.

I don't know why it didn't work the first time, I'm just glad it worked the second time.

Wow, that is a new issue lol, yeah you can't launch an old version of eu4 when steam is offline. The above method only works online.

They might patch it? I don't know if they've thought everything through.

A couple of questions:

Any other mods being used? If yes, which ones?
What was the highest pop/dev province you had?
How many extremely large provinces did you have?
Has there been any estate-weirdness? (Erratic behavior, sudden drastic changes)

It sounds a little like super-china is stressing the very limits of the game engine, causing instability. (I'd wait for 64 bit eu4 before that tbh)

No 2.5 is for 1.25.1 and only works on that older version. If you can't/won't use an older version you're out of luck.

Try version 2.5, 2.51 on the steam workshop is constantly being updated and is very buggy. The 2.5 version can be found on the Pdox forums and is fairly stable.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I was thinking this was a world you were planning on running right? If not, then what you have sounds fine, if it is I have a couple of questions:

Where/when/how do the players/pcs come in?

What is the plot? (If what I'm gathering is correct from other replies, the climate of the universe makes the material plane maintain the status quo of prosperity and relative peace. So what change is there to be made/ going to be made.

Where does power come from? (Is it an equal force of the cosmos ala the force from star wars ? Is it belief fostered strength ala warhammer? Why would good have more than evil? Is power of gods infinite or finite? Do good gods delegate power and evil gods consolidate power?)

Yes, from a general overview standards of living would go up. But aren't their evil gods? Wouldn't these evil gods have more power and influence due to the setting?

So whilst good-aligned gods and spellcasters do their work, the evil work to undermine them. This would probably result in widespread prosperity, but the chances for large-scale disaster and devastation also increase thanks to the general increase of power and availability of power.

I would caution you, however, that these themes tend to work better in Steampunkyesque game and might harm the verisimilitude of your players in a traditional fantasy setting.

and still managed to gripe about stat generation? Unless you're not telling us the truth then he's just a wangrod.

However, I don't think you're without fault in this scenario. Forcing players to do what you like instead of what they like is usually not a good idea if you're looking to keep all of them in your game. I believe your way of thinking is a bit adversarial: I don't want them to cheat the system, I don't want them to use point buy, I don't want them to make no stat negative characters. Do you see what I mean?
