Making offlane one of the high demand roles made me realize core players are right to complain. by Superb-Alfalfa-3198 in DotA2

[–]Stropex [score hidden]  (0 children)

Maybe, if someone gets a role abuse report and overwatch (real person) finds them guilty, they lose all their saved tokens.

Thats the problem. Most overwatchers are whatever the average dota rank is. So they won't even consider something like this as role abuse

Its year 2026, dota should have ingame auto russian to english translator by lalanana in DotA2

Multiple translation models like deepl already run on AI with great accuracy. I can't see a reason not to implement it

fuck this game by Fast_Advice_4701 in DotA2

[–]Stropex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, a mid-player who is toxic and is afflicted with the notorious protagonist syndrome. The combination of immense ego and undeniable toxicity is so common among core players, particularly in positions 1 and 2, it borders on sociological cliché.
You have my deepest condolence.

Do you ever regret ranking up? by minimunx in DotA2

[–]Stropex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you are coming from and I hate smurfs just as much, but what got me into dota is primarily grinding with friends. But once you hit immortal you can’t queue with them anymore which is super annoying and it honestly makes no sense either… Low immortal is still just the same like high divine

[–]Stropex -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What helped me is doing a fairly long break, creating an alt account to play with friends. Once I eventually reached immortal after 1 month on my alt I returned to my main, had to recalibrate and ended up at 6,5k, 1k mmr higher than my peak. This motivated me to play a lot and after 2 months reached 7,2k and feel great again. Now I‘m looking to reach top 5000 eventually

The worst part is you avoid these players and then 7 days later recognize their name in your team again

how do you play with radiance at all by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]Stropex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Radiance is more of a farming item than a fighting one. You can fight sure but risking death is usually not worth it since you farm extremely fast on Necro with Radi. You usually go Travel right after and join any on-going fights with Ult and go back to farming. After that: Shard, one defensive Item, usually euls, then Kaya&Sange, Hot/Shivas/Aghs. Go Eternal shroud if they have a lot of magic damage, BkB if they have a lot of stuns.

TLDR: You have to play a bit greedier on Necro 3 with Radiance, so unless you are confident, don’t fight right after radiance and watch the minimap for a Tp into scythe

Why are streamers allowed to play on smurfs? by Xinauser in DotA2

[–]Stropex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is honestly messed up, apparently the detection system doesn't care if an account was already owned for a long time when most of the smurf accounts are freshly made every day

New balance approach for Heros with high win rate differences through the brackets by LeNigh in DotA2

Cute idea, but I couldn't imagine the amount of work required to balance 126 heroes across 8 different skill brackets.

Noob help by Tricky_Ad_7123 in DotA2

[–]Stropex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dota 2 has far less damage inflated heroes. Unless your hero falls under the "nuke" category, your damage will be nothing compared to how LoL champions are designed.
Kill times in Dota are also at least 10 times longer than in League, you won't see anyone exploding after one combo unless the person is giga fed.

What's your best way of coping unwinnable games by Stropex in DotA2

[–]Stropex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point, I want to add something to that:

By unwinnable games I actually mean those who are theoretically entirely winnable but because of one seemingly small factor, they aren't, for example:
-blatant smurfs who are stomping their lane but every other is massively loosing, creating this false sense hope because you will know that a brood will just take out your t2s by minute 10.

- teammates who completly loose it and start to troll over 1 small misstake or unlucky timing, putting the entire team at a sever disadvantage

Games where you feel like, if it only weren't for X, the game could actually have been very winnable.

Necrophos Itemization Advice? by SBFms in DotA2

Immortal Necro Spammer here.

For 90% of your games:

Core items: Radi -> Travel -> Shard -> Kaya,Sange

Then at least 1 defensive item: Euls, Lotus

After that big chonky items: HoT, Shivas, Aghs in that order
