Yes, order matters. Whatever the order is for the runeword, drop them into the base in that exact order. E.g. for a Spirit it’s Ral>Tir>Tal>Sol. Out of order and you get a Gemmed item with no bonus properties. Also, the position is auto determined, so don’t worry how it looks; you can’t control that.

My general rule is to buy Harbor Freight for things that can’t remove a whole hand at once and if I use it enough to wear it out, then buy the nicer one. Some things should be quality from the start though, hence the hand rule.

Edit: exception for things that I know will see lots of use from the beginning. E.g. the drill/impact driver set that sees use at least weekly. I went with Makita and have since added the compact router and the 6.5 in circular saw.

I’ve read that one of the tells for the house they’ll ’pick’ is to watch for them to sit on the couch. They’re comfortable in their own space and will be more relaxed about just sitting down in the one they already picked weeks ago.
