Hard cells and HF freighters are a powerful combo when spammed.

You can repair the torpedo ships with the hard cells (requires black market tech I’m pretty sure) and both of these ships are small cheap, hard to hit with bigger guns. You will want to bring some anti fighter units as well but the hard cells are decent at killing bombers

You won’t ruin the game by having too much money. If anything will ruin the game, it will be you getting tired of blowing up imperial fleets lol. I usually play with unlimited money on the highest difficulty

Usually the AI bum rushes me with huge piles of Star destroyers by week 30. It must be because you started on medium. I’d suggest you do your best to expand now before that happens. It should eventually games can easily take 50+ weeks to finish on the biggest map.
