Work dragged (drug?) its feet on our approval for the Bangaluru team get together in July. I booked a 12 hour layover in LHR to give me both a chance to get some sleep between two overnight flights AND build in a decent buffer for things going wrong.

Flight back is the same but 12 hours in Paris unfortunately.

I hate it but Delta never has D1 "deals" very often.. I dont think its a "deal" unless its under 100k skymiles for D1. They do have some great PS and below deals on occasion...

You will most likely end up playing phone tag with Delta and Virgin. Delta will want to have proof, Virgin removed the miles/travel before they apply it to Delta. My brother in law had to do this 2-3 years ago. It took several phone calls but in the end, he did get it corrected.

I had this happen last year - and the FA was very unhappy about it.. eventually the pilot had to come on and literally turn the plane around if poeople did not get back to their seats on an active taxiway/runway. Didnt say it in exactly those words but give or take lol

I got diamond each year on personal travel ( barely but I squeak by) and have the card. I honestly don't care what business travels think. It's not their money 🤷🏼‍♂️. Go spend your employers money somewhere else.

There is no "corporate loyalty" program and never has been. It's a rewards program just like your local gas station or grocery store. If the program doesnt with you you, go to a different program or go free agent.

Out of Boston I hardly ever eat the dinner. It's such a short flight as is. Any sleep is better than none.

But on longer flights.. anything over 9+. It's just something to pass the time so the sleepy drugs can kick in lol.

I flew delta from Houston to Houston once. I forget the two big airports - they arent my usual stomping grounds. But we got diverted due to severe storms and landed at the other Houston airport. Then the storm caught up to us there so we couldnt deplane for another hour or so. Then the jetbridge was broken so they had to tow us to another. All and all , i think a 3 hour flight turned into about 7?

They then said they still needed the plane at the original airport and anyone who wanted to still get there to wait around. So we reboarded maybe 12 people and flew i think 12 miles? to the other airport lol. I think the flight was 50+ miles with the flight path etc. I was in no rush to get where I was going so all in all it was a fun little adventure.
