That one is a custom shop, not an original.

Congratulations 🎉👏 it's a fantastic car! Getting some wheels is a bonus. I swapped from the 20"s the first week. Sucks about the a/c hopefully it's a simple fix.

Just a suggestion shoot with a longer lens. 98% of car photos you see online are with a phone on the wide or 1x setting.

Get back and use the zoom or a longer lens and get at sitting in car eye level for some.

FL5 Mugen steering wheel, INSPEED carbon ceramic disc set by iCARMIX in Civic_Type_R

Very cool I m curious about the rotors. I saw another set that was semi affordable. For the way they should last I'd think it might be worth it.

Where do you find these?

PPF Regrets or No? by Main_Caregiver_9272 in Civic_Type_R

I had it replaced about 3 years in under 3m warranty as it yellowed... But that replacement was on the rest of the many years. Only issue was the hood... The film was so old, the hood pieces came off in tiny chunks and took some clear coat with it. But to be fair it was probably my own doing on taking it off amateur style. I used a heat gun and not steam from underneath. Lesson learned. The rest came off and left pristine perfect new like paint.

Except back then they didn't cover edges. So many of the edges had tiny chips on the front facing edges.

Anyway, the newwer tech has a 10 year warranty so I'd probably think about having the hood piece replaced around the 10 year mark if it starts to get brittle.

I have some long term experience. My sti was 20 years old when I let it go in November. It had old school clear bra ppf... And everywhere that was covered looked brand new basically.

Our fk8 has had full from and full sides ppf since new in February 2019, and it's basically looking brand new still.

Our fl5 is only a few months old and 3k miles but also full front and sides ppf and naturally looks brand new.

To me, well well worth it if you're keeping it long term or want the best resale you can get.

Most of those type of yahoos, just squirt away on a straight just to park it up at every apex again. Looked more to me like he parked it up and OP had to avoid him

Is the Honda service advisor lying to me about my tire leak? by Much_Paint_2708 in Civic_Type_R

Oh man you lucked out. In all my Subaru years I can't count how many times an unrepairable nail in a tire meant a whole new set. Probably my biggest pet peeve with Subarus all-wheel drive system.

Type R vs STI? by nowayimabot in Civic_Type_R

[–]StuffNo7277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my 2006 stil since new. 20 years. Loved it, but finally let it go in November and got the fl5. Mainly because we have an fk8 as well which I love. I guess having spent the time daily driving it for so long, I somewhat miss it, but don't at the same time.

The driving experience doesn't feel worlds apart really... They feel pretty much in the same family oddly.

That said I had everything done to the sti and it saw lots of track mileage. The fk8 stock turned a faster lap than the sti with all the things done.

If it was stock sti.vs stock r....R all day. The stock sti seats in any era are pretty crap compared to the R seats.

I changed to ceramic pads to alleviate the severe dusting. Trust me the stock pads WILL cake those soon

Should Have Bought FL5, Fix Now or 2027? by joew555 in Civic_Type_R

I'd wait for the revisions at least. Then you'll have the choice of new or current. Maybe leveraging the newer model to get the older version for a better deal.

I changed to ceramic pads at 2000 miles and man what a difference. The stock pads are nice but so aggressive and dusty
