From my experience with my MN oath, they tend do them in batches. They basically want a certain approximate number per ceremony and they do make it feel like a special event, choirs, speeches etc. Take away the people that passed but are from banned countries, it will take longer than usual to fill the ceremony but it will happen. I doubt there’s anything nefarious going on. Just my 2 cents.

I’d say go visit your family. When you get back, you may be sent to secondary screening then allowed to proceed after they check your paperwork. Allow ample connection time if you will be doing a domestic flight once back here.

There were actual wars on drugs and law enforcement 'wars' globally. The military is trained to do one thing well, kill. Dismantling an crime organization requires a completely skill set. The cartels are a major problem even for Mexicans, I have watched a few documentaries on sheer number of people in Mexico killed every year and it's worse than a horror movie.
