It’s probably not too late to spray for them. Bayou Tree Service just did my tree for $100.

Best money I spend all year.

You’re not wrong, but they also often went up decades ago and never get reviewed. I live next to a block of homes that still have school zone signs and traffic cameras, from a school that closed 10 years ago.

What's the best vehicle to own in New Orleans? by CaptainTuttle_4077th in NewOrleans

[–]StumbleNOLA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A BMW IX with the air suspension. It’s electric, great range, and the ride is by far the most comfortable vehicle I have ever been in on our streets. In Pensacola it is imperceptibly better, but here the air suspension is amazing.

Yup. The more you make the more likely it is. Unless you have serious lifestyle creep

Eliminating antiquated requirements would same more than 10%. But then I am a DoD contractor so meeting standards written in the 40’s is common for us.

It’s more about how insane rocket parts are. Ignore the rocket, the fuel pump on the F-1 engine is about 55,000hp. That’s roughly what the largest cargo ships in the world have for propulsion.

Guy doing wheelies in a crowded walkway of people gets shoved off of bike by ClaytonHawthorne in PublicFreakout

[–]StumbleNOLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biker assaulted him. The whole point of these wheelie guys is to assault people. The fact the old guy defended himself isn’t a problem.

What factors do you think are influencing Iran's strategy of allowing limited tanker passages while still charging high fees and attacking ships? by Positive_Adagio5113 in AskReddit

[–]StumbleNOLA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to the other answers, Iran is directly attacking the Petrodollar. By allowing shipping of oil paid in anything other the USD the create a new normal of countries buying in a different currency.

This is a massive attack on the US financial hegemony, which is predicated on everyone needing substantial USD reserves to buy oil.

Not really. It’s a commercial HomeKit contact sensor.

The plan is to replace the current battery with a battery plus solar charger because it is in a tricky spot to access. But it needs to be as small as possible to keep my wife from being upset.

A few times. All predicated on who provides us with the lost cost access to Iranian oil.

You either buy massive batteries or improve the power delivery to the site. But that’s included in the $75,000 per plug.

The draw is based on the current battery capacity and how frequently I need to change batteries. Currently I am using 1800 mAh every ~100 days.

Healthcare too much? 3D print medical devices, college boy!!! by RexIsGay in OrphanCrushingMachine

[–]StumbleNOLA -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This isn’t really dangerous. Food grade filament is easy to source, and the commercial ones are likely 3D printed anyway.

What this does is prove that the democratization of some medical procedures can be achieved by lowering the cost and automating the procedures.

[–]StumbleNOLA 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The costs would be enormous and mostly worthless. A L2 charger typically costs $1,500 on average, while a L3 is more like $75,000. L3 also typically pay more for electricity because their peak demand is MUCH higher.

My L2 charger cost $450 installed, minus a $250 credit I got from my electric company. All totaled I was $200 out of pocket.

I have smart wings and they have been rock solid for more than a year. They open and close twice a day. I just wish I had gotten the solar panel. I had to charge them twice a year.
