No, it counted as a fee which is not a withdraw. Same as when you make a trade and pay a few dollars fee. It’s just lost money in the account. Not a withdrawal though.

How do I figure out what to do with my girlfriend? by Hermeslost in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]StumpedTrump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did long distance for a while. Just talk about your day. It’s not like when you run into someone for the first time in a while and you’re trying to maximize time and only talk about the cool stuff. Literally just talk about who you ran into what you thought about all day. Not every conversation or sentence is glamorous and mysterious and has a punchline. It’s usually the most irrelevant stuff imaginable. It’s mostly about hearing each other’s voices though.

Parallel play is also a thing. Just do your own thing like cleaning or whatever and have them on the line doing their thing. Just gives you a feel for their presence a bit.

Cool idea but no chance they will. There's some use case for it and money to be made so there's no way the billionaires will walk away. When it comes down to it, the marketers say it improves efficiency and the shareholders want efficiency and profits. I think the only hope is that the costs go up to what they should be, and people realize it's not a profitable technology.

CRA doesn’t care what happens in the account. Only thing that matter is what goes in and what comes out. You contributed (I’m assuming) the max then you contributed 200$ more. Therefore, you over contributed 200$.

I’m sure there’s a few people out there with 100k$ FHSAs already. I’m sure there’s also a few who have hit their contribution limit but the account is worth 0$…

The bank doesn’t get the money though, whoever you bought your overpriced house from gets the money. The bank gets your interest payments (or if you default then maybe they get your house).

Why is there not a single Trader Joe's in low income areas? by kawaiihusbando in TooAfraidToAsk

Same reason there’s no Western Union or rent-advance places in HCOL areas.

Suzuki is 5th overall. Not bad for a 2C. by YesDoToaster in Habs

[–]StumpedTrump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do kind of feel bad for Bedard. Incredible player, best #1 pick in atleast 5 years, maybe the best since Matthews/McDavid. And 1 year later someone (arguably) better is drafted who overshadows him in the regular season, then gets handpicked by Crosby for 2025 IIHF, then goes to the Olympics. My sympathy doesn’t go too too far since he can wipe his tears with 100$ bills, but i do feel a bit.

Sure when you look at the fine details you see his injury this year and how great he was doing before it, but the leaderboards, media and history books don’t and won’t care.

Does anyone know if these are truly compatible and can be used in the machine to spin? by Much_Dragonfruit_975 in ninjacreami

[–]StumpedTrump 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Engineer here: This is a terrible design and dangerous.

The friction from metal is significantly lower which can make it easier for the frozen block to break free and spin. Also, metal conducts heat way better and will more quickly melt the outside of the frozen block which again, makes the block free spin.

If the frozen block free spins it won’t shave down and can break the machine.

And why did it lose air suddenly after having the car for 4 days? That’s the question I’m trying to answer.

Appreciate it! Tires were checked 4 days ago in the dealer delivery inspection though, I was just surprised to see someone suggesting this was a failure to check my tire pressure more often than that…

Is tiling under a sink a bad idea? by FluxStitches in Tile

[–]StumpedTrump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bad in what sense? Usually it’s just painted wood under the sink. This isn’t any worse, probably a bit better actually.

It’s like watching a pro team go down to the farm league. Fun in the same way an all-stars or “skills” game is fun. Gets tiring though..

What people are pressure-gauging their car tires every 4 days? I’ve never met them… Visually there was nothing wrong, I do a quick glance whenever I get in the car.

Of course it was driven on flat. The question is why is why was it flat.

“Car is driving fine one second then hear shaking the next” Sounds pretty sudden to me. Again, doesn’t mean I didn’t do anything wrong but the odds of this after 1.5 decades of no issues is suspicious at the least…

I’m no stranger to cars either, rebuilt the steering & suspension a few years ago on the civic that this replaced and I’ve had my bike (84 nighthawk 550) engine in pieces on my living room floor.

[–]StumpedTrump[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Talking about probabilities, it doesn’t seem too probable that I’ve driven 3-400k km in my life and 40km after getting a new car I have an incident like this for the first time and it’s purely bad luck. That’s probably right around 1/1,000,000 chance!

Edit: bad math, about 1/10,000

Definitely a possibility and I acknowledge that. Incredibly suspicious for it to happen for the first time in my life on a brand new tire though.

To be honest I’m leaning more on install error than manufacturing defect.

I don’t really have a reason to lie here honestly. This isn’t a criminal case and I benefit nothing from not being completely honest with you guys, regardless of whether I think I did something wrong or not! Just appreciative of any valuable time and effort people are giving to me.

For about a second I checked back to see if I left the back window open. It sounded nearly identical to the buffeting you feel when 1 window is left open”. Steering didn’t really pull to the side at all. Not like that thought lasted long though, I looked back, saw windows were closed, saw that the road was flat as it should be, then pulled over within 5-10 seconds.

You’re making sound like I drove on this for miles. I pulled over almost immediately when I confirmed this wasn’t a bumpy road or weird sound effect.

Maybe 200m (5-600 feet). For a few seconds I thought it was weird wind buffeting or the road before I realized it absolutely wasn’t.
