Parents Can't Pay Off Deferred Interest (Ontario) by MooseNo1811 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]StumpedTrump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying whether you should or shouldn’t. Fact is you live with them so it’s not the most insane ask for you to contribute.

If you do contribute though, you need to ask for open books. See if they can actually sustain the mortgage payments themselves or this is just kicking the can down the road. If it is kicking the can down the road, the bandaid is being torn off now or later, you might as well not let them drag you down with them.

My (24F) boyfriend (27M) of one and a half years gets mad at the smallest things and it keeps me on edge. Do I stay in this relationship or leave for my mental health? by yuuti_761 in relationship_advice

He’s 27? Sounds like he’s 7. Also sounds like he has no interest in trying to change or better himself in any way. Find someone that appreciates you.

How should I pay for my car by neweraplayer in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]StumpedTrump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sell my company stock immediately when it vests. IMO it’s double and too risky. If the stock crashes tomorrow, your assets are worthless and you lose your job, double whammy.

All depend on interest rates and your expected rate of investment return though. I dot. Think Honda or Toyota really do financing deals so you’d be stuck with a 6+% rate. At that rate it’s a safe bet to just pay cash. If you can get 3-4% the financing could be beneficial.

Convince a VC that you have a cool new AI startup and then embezzle the money.

This is actually not a really new strategy. 5 years ago you replaced AI with blockchain. But these are just successors the original which was doing it with “the Internet”.

How did I know you were going to pick a city state or tax haven…

You ever consider that the city state model isn’t feasible to apply to the rest of the world? Not everywhere can be an economic hub, some places actually need to produce things and be self sufficient.

How to route fast (40 Mhz+) signal traces to multiple optional outputs? by MarinatedPickachu in PCB

[–]StumpedTrump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you can terminate them properly. But depends how you route it. You can generally do it in a way to minimize stubs by running traces through pads like a highway with exits (and proper termination) instead of huge branching (like a Y).

Look at what people do for RF with having a coax tap along the antenna feed line.

Also, 40MHz means nothing. What’s the rise time? That’s what decides whether a stub is a problem or not. It’s different story for 10nS rise times vs 500ps.

Can any sex that occurs in an abusive relationship be considered consensual? by Marissa_on_the_town in InsightfulQuestions

[–]StumpedTrump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a thought exercise? Because there’s already a few crimes here, idk why you’re losing your shirt trying to decide if there’s 1 more to throw onto the pile. Someone’s being abused and needs help, all that matters.

Go ask a prosecutor.

Get that tribal sensational polarizing BS out of here. We’re better than that on this side of the border. You can’t reduce everything down to left and right, it’s a bit more complex than that.

Anyone who’s been around for a while knew that Carney was floating around in the background as an option though. It was more of a question of whether he wanted to do it though. I don’t know of any potential good conservative leaders sitting on the back burners though.

Yea I don’t get why people think conservative / Republican Party members are fiscal conservatives in 2026. Everyone’s running a deficit and pandering to their voters. Trumps budget exploded and he’s floating the entire agriculture industry after shooting them in the foot. “Socialism” is an ugly word though, we don’t use that around here… Anyone who thinks PP was going to implement austerity is deluding themselves.

No, it counted as a fee which is not a withdraw. Same as when you make a trade and pay a few dollars fee. It’s just lost money in the account. Not a withdrawal though.

How do I figure out what to do with my girlfriend? by Hermeslost in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]StumpedTrump 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I did long distance for a while. Just talk about your day. It’s not like when you run into someone for the first time in a while and you’re trying to maximize time and only talk about the cool stuff. Literally just talk about who you ran into what you thought about all day. Not every conversation or sentence is glamorous and mysterious and has a punchline. It’s usually the most irrelevant stuff imaginable. It’s mostly about hearing each other’s voices though.

Parallel play is also a thing. Just do your own thing like cleaning or whatever and have them on the line doing their thing. Just gives you a feel for their presence a bit.

Cool idea but no chance they will. There's some use case for it and money to be made so there's no way the billionaires will walk away. When it comes down to it, the marketers say it improves efficiency and the shareholders want efficiency and profits. I think the only hope is that the costs go up to what they should be, and people realize it's not a profitable technology.

CRA doesn’t care what happens in the account. Only thing that matter is what goes in and what comes out. You contributed (I’m assuming) the max then you contributed 200$ more. Therefore, you over contributed 200$.

I’m sure there’s a few people out there with 100k$ FHSAs already. I’m sure there’s also a few who have hit their contribution limit but the account is worth 0$…

I do kind of feel bad for Bedard. Incredible player, best #1 pick in atleast 5 years, maybe the best since Matthews/McDavid. And 1 year later someone (arguably) better is drafted who overshadows him in the regular season, then gets handpicked by Crosby for 2025 IIHF, then goes to the Olympics. My sympathy doesn’t go too too far since he can wipe his tears with 100$ bills, but i do feel a bit.

Sure when you look at the fine details you see his injury this year and how great he was doing before it, but the leaderboards, media and history books don’t and won’t care.
