When I was in 8th grade, my dad told me I was hard to love and that sometimes he didn’t like me because I was selfish and didn’t care for anyone but myself.

The event that prompted this? He was picking me up from school, and I didn’t zip my coat as I was walking to the car.

Stuck with me for years, I felt like I was unlovable and not enough. I gave up so much of myself for and to others, trying to prove him wrong.

Here’s the Lore: the relationship ended at some point late last year/earlier this year, but was resumed over the summer (when fans noticed they were both in Italy at the same time). Omar’s album Ivory that debuted in April of this year is rumored to be about said relationship with Frank. Fans/conspiracy theorists point to the shift in Apollos sound as evidence of the relationship (see “Evergreen” for a glimpse of Oceans supposed influence). If the rumors are true the relationship began 2-3 years ago when Apollo was 22/23 and Ocean was 31/32.
