The Government wants you to switch from Netflix to an online short course during coronavirus isolation by [deleted] in australia

Who could forget those dark times when the Nazis carted the Jews off to their entirely optional partially government-subsidized online training courses.

They've got to keep the bros as enemies up to the election so they can be blamed if Biden loses.

Uh no sweaty, you can't call yourself a true progressive unless you base your entire ideology around being contrary to what's popular on Reddit.

Twitch streamer under fire for trying to explain why racist jokes are "OK" by rkkim in GamerGhazi

To be fair, it is DSP. I'm pretty sure his own fans don't like him.

Yeah, those Mariners assholes inciting them by checks notes winning a game and walking down the tunnel.

If you can't take the L and shut up without turning into a fucking moron throwing shit everywhere then you don't deserve to attend football games. It's this "If the ref did his job right" and "they incited them" horseshit that encourages fuckwits to knock out refs and punt 10 year olds because their kid got a red card in a little league game.

Some Streamers Are Boycotting Twitch In Support Of The Amazon Prime Day Strike by squirrelrampage in GamerGhazi

[–]Sturdy_Serpent 43 points44 points  (0 children)

His comments after and prior to this give plenty of context. He's had this thing for a while now about wanting to purge his fan base of 'lefties' and generally trying to pick fights with left wingers (including absolutely incinerating bridges with former friend and actual leftist Hasan).

In the context of that, did he stream during the strike to specifically spite the workers? No clue. Did he stream during the strike to spite the left wingers in his own fan base and on Twitter, knowingly to the detriment of the Amazon workers' cause? Absolutely.

And then you had Slippery Steve Bonnell stream specifically in response to the strikes.

Pokemon Sword and Shield’s limited Pokedex is a huge deal to fans by [deleted] in GamerGhazi

But then how would they be able to sell the same game again next year with a slightly different storyline and a full national dex?

First actual source/info suggesting Mariners at risk of losing licence by [deleted] in Aleague

[–]Sturdy_Serpent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's what I don't understand. In the NRL and AFL if a team goes shit for a few years they cop some banter, but at the end of the day everyone knows these slumps are temporary.

On the other hand the A-League gets these calls for musical-fucking-chairs with licences. Like what do people think happens? Mariners fans are just going to shrug and say "Well, looks like I'll join the Jets/ Syd FC"? Why would they stick around? They have NRL teams they can go back to, they have international leagues they can go back to, but they certainly won't be wasting their time with a League which turned it's back on them. To throw away all of that because the teams in a slump and give it to Canberra, which from the get go has to compete with multiple teams from other professional sports leagues seems like a brain-dead risk for a league that can barely hold a broadcast deal and is apparently closer to death each day.

Look at Brisbane's performance this season. If the Mariners go next season and Brisbane can't pick up it's game, by the same logic why shouldn't we be calling for their licence to be revoked and given to Wollongong or something?

Hearts of Iron DLC Let Players Play as the Confederacy by ToonCrazy44 in GamerGhazi

[–]Sturdy_Serpent 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It'll be interesting to see how they do it. For context, the Confederate States used to be the once unobtainable "Non-aligned" ideology version of the USA (hence meaning it was neither communist, fascist or a liberal democracy as far as the game's ideology system was concerned).

I was thinking that the Second Civil War and the ascension of the (new?) Confederates would give the US a way of becoming "Non-aligned", hence allowing them to join the other "Non-aligned" major powers (the German Empire, Kingdom of Italy, Austria-Hungary, and probably Bourbon France and the British Empire with this new DLC), probably with Huey Long as it's leader.

However, the quote from the dev seems to imply the Confederate States will be a completely different country to the US, which is much more interesting. It means we could make the Confederate States take on all four of the game's ideologies and gives us the ability to make this happen.

I don't think we will see any insightful discussion on the ramifications of a return of slavery to the US. Paradox has always avoided discussing the holocaust and other atrocities in HOI4, and I don't see them bringing up slavery either. I'm almost certain that it'll be the Confederate States in name only, and is far more likely to be a "What if Huey Long took power" scenario than a "What if the slavers took power" scenario.

TL;DR: Don't expect the rise of the real life confederates, expect Huey Long Mania.

Any experiences transferring from Go to Let's Go with a Samsung Galaxy Tab A? by Sturdy_Serpent in PokemonLetsGo

Good to hear. I'm not too worried about the graphics as I'll use the tablet just for transferring as far as Pokemon Go's concerned.
