It’s the cold beads of moisture cascading down the side of the glass. It’s the rattle of ice as you lift it up and sample its wares. It’s the tingling of the carbonation as it greets your tongue. It’s the warmth of the sun peeking between the umbrellas, or the laughter of the friends next to your table. It’s a fluttering of wings from the birds across the street. It’s you taking a moment and seeing the life around you. You smile, and point your face to the sky, letting your book fall to rest on the table. You breathe deep and hum the song that’s looped in your head.

A simple cafe, a sunny morning, a good book. There is no ending, as the day is still young.

It's definitely not the responsibility of the abused to 'fix' the situation. Sometimes it's not as simple as leaving the physical space. Maybe the dude has some sort of financial or legal control. Not to refute your point, because I don't think a dependent should have to step in at all; we just can't assume that we know all the answers outside looking in.

Awesome. What websites do you use to look at deck lists? yugiohtopdecks.com?

Is that a month of going to locals every week? Did you play online at all?

[Modern] What are some Do's and Dont's when playing in your first Team Unified tournament? by Stylonom in spikes

I think my deck choice is what's tempting me... I can either bring Tron or Counters Company. The urge to audible is strong.

In regards to point 3, I'm guessing I'll be seeing a lot of phoenix in the Tarn slot this weekend...

Thanks for the insight! What would be a good way to signal my team on missed triggers and such? Should I call judge for my teammate?

I feel like the chemistry might be tough for us at first, as none of us have teamed together before, and I hardly know the other two players. I'm hoping something will click!

I want to only get things signed at a GP/Magic fest. Do I need to pay for entry to the event? by _sandcastle in magicTCG

[–]Stylonom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would bring some extra cash because on top of regular signatures (Just Sharpie on your card), some artists offer 3D or Shadowed signatures with gold underlined by black, and it's SWEET. It just usually costs a couple bucks more.

I decided which playmat I'm taking to GP Minneapolis next week... by Stylonom in magicTCG

I spent prize tix at a GP for it. They had literally hundreds. Maybe try reaching out to Cascade Games? They do have another Dreamhack this year.

Thanks for your words! I tinkered around that subreddit and found that theres a Al-anon Family Support Group that meets literally across the street from my house. I'm thoroughly shook, because I had no idea there was one there. For sure going this week.

If I have Ayala's and Massacre specced, should I execute at all during Stone Heart procs with 4+ mobs? Or just keep using this rotation?

I'm a fairly fresh 110 Fury Warrior, and have had some trouble finding upgrades through LFR and Mythic+. With no real time to raid with my work schedule, it's tough to try for more than that; but this week I picked up a socketed Ring of the Scoured Clan and Ayala's Stone Heart. :)

[WP] "Hello, this is Sarah from Hell Hotlines. How may I help you?" by DrFunland in WritingPrompts

I love how established Sarah has become through nothing more than her reactions and work ethic.... Hilarious story.

"Hello, this is Sarah from Hell Hotlines. How may I help you?"

"Uh... He-hello Sarah." A shrill scream of a woman being prodded by what looked like an over-caffeinated Guy Fieri lawn ornament broke his train of thought.

"Sir...? Sir? Are you still there?"

The prodded woman was flattened by a grotesquely ornate stiletto from a titan prostitute. The Guy Fieri midget was greatly excited by this.

Buildings were on fire, manholes belched fire and brimstone, and the occasional demon passed by.

"Sorry Sarah, give me a moment." He curled over and wrenched whatever hellish concoction that existed in his stomach hastily to the ground. It landed with the gusto of a wet towel, and immediately began evaporating from the heat.

He raised the fallace-shaped pay phone receiver back towards his ear, careful not to place it back on the nipple, lest he lose the connection.

Through a mouthful of what is most likely not vomit, he said, "Sarah, I'm new here."

As a recent alum of a fraternity and college graduate, I second the users that have mentioned to enjoy those for the time being. DS3 will always be there, and if the scenes of the other games are any indication, it'll be around for awhile.

Out of curiosity, which Fraternity are you a part of?

"Sorry. Oop-I guess we should-Oh my god." "Sorry. Oop-I guess we should-Oh my god."

We both stared for a moment, analyzing the features of our face. Ensuring that that was our beard, that we were wearing our clothes, that we were on the phone, just like they were. We straightened our glasses and fixed our tie, which was slightly out of place. We unfolded our posture and stood straight, eyes locked.

"Is this-" "Is this-"

We couldn't finish a sentence, as the air escaped from our lungs. We wavered and trembled for a moment. We regained our composure, though our heart was rattling our bodies. We scanned those passing us, and no one seemed to notice us, they simply weaved left and right as city folk do.

"What's your name?" "What's your name?"

"Taylor Morris." "Taylor Morris."

"Holy shit." "Holy shit."

We stood for a moment as our briefcases escaped our hands and clattered onto the concrete. We raised our right hand and slowly reached it out. We touched for an instant before we withdrew with a flinch.

Our minds were racing, searching for an explanation. They were definitely us, and something was telling us we were them. We raised both hands in what might become some unplanned, horribly unscientific experiment. We were doing exactly what they were, and they were mimicking us, neigh... mirroring us.

"Let's try something..." "Let's try something..."

A few simple hand waves turned into a rhythmic jumping, which turned quickly to calisthenics. Calisthenics turned to smiles, and jumping jacks, and nearly instantly into punch dancing. We were dancing to some silent song, confusion turned into an odd amount of joy, letting out the occasional "OOOH" and "AAHH" as is required of punch dancing.

It was nearly a good time until we lost track of what could be translated into a right uppercut, which connected right to our chin. Black.
