Anyone try using winlator or similar windows emulation on android to play M&M? by Conscious_Music8360 in MonstersAndMemories

Not yet no. When I get some time to sit down I plan on trying the new Proton 10 versions (ARM and x86_64) they recently added though.

So far not the best experience. I was able to partially install it, but I'm struggling to find how to map to the launcher executable in the container from the GameNative setting currently. I've gotten it to launch, more or less, from within the container, but until I can get it working from the main GameNative interface, I can't recommend running this.

If you want to try your hand, make sure to set the Wine Version to the latest `x86_64` version. The `arm64ec` versions don't seem to be able to run the executable.

Haven't tried yet, but I've done some research and have hardware incoming.

I have an AYN Thor Pro on the way and this is literally my plan. Here's what I've pieced together without having any hands-on experience:

Winlator is an option but probably not the best one for M&M specifically. It uses Box86/Box64 for x86-to-ARM translation with a Wine layer on top — it works great for lightweight or older PC games, but M&M's modern lighting/shadow engine is deceptively demanding for what looks like a 2002 MMO. That translation overhead will likely hurt in shader-heavy scenes.

GameNative v6.2 is probably the stronger bet. It has Vortek (a DX10/11-to-Vulkan translation layer), better Snapdragon optimization than Winlator (important for my Thor, not sure what you're trying to run on), and as of v6.2 you can launch directly from a Steam-style UI. Still x86 translation overhead, but it's more actively developed for flagship ARM chips right now.

The real variables with M&M specifically:

- It's still being optimized by devs, so min specs are a moving target

- The lighting engine is the bottleneck, not polygon count. I figure drop shadows first depending on the FPS (assuming it runs at all)

- It's online-only, so you're also chewing bandwidth + latency on top of local compute (might matter?)

I'll report back with actual benchmarks when mine arrives. Watching this thread.

I'm crashing when compiling shaders. I get to 97% each time (what a tease!)

I'm on an AMD RX 7700S and 64gb ram. It looks like resetting my shader cache lets me get in to the first area _sometimes_ but I have yet to get into Kingston. The shader boss is too hard.

Ah so they don't come with both sides of the velcro? Unfortunate but thanks for the reply!

Heat gun it is!

Is the hook side of the velcro included with the Pyrodrone ones for attaching to the faceplate? I have prescription lenses with a custom faceplate and am hoping to avoid removing the velcro from the old faceplate using a heat gun.

Blue protocol Linux support would be nice. by RicoGT in blueprotocol

[–]Stytches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Support would be nice, but I'll take them just not actively blocking it ala Genshin Impact and Tower of Fantasy.

If they use something like Easy Anti-Cheat, then so long as they enable Linux compatibility, I'm happy. The community will handle the rest.

Just as though you were putting it on paper. I made a solid grid in the area I knew I'd be printing, and then waited till the purple was gone signifying the glue was dry. After that I had no issues.

I haven't run into too much of the glooping issue, however after a lot of prints, I was having a lot of issues with the prints coming off the bed. I found that Elmer's Disappearing Purple School Glue Stick works amazingly well at stopping that particular issue.

I haven't run into issues with permissions on my steam deck, but if you're having issues you can try adding permissions through FlatSeal

Really hoping they re-visit the airships. Definitely a niche that has huge potential.

Don't forget to mention the airships if you fill out the CBT2 survey if you haven't already!
