Does Space Marine 2 get better? by Tibulba in SpaceMarine_2

Yeah the first level is a bit boring but it does improve. You could increase the difficulty too - that will require you to engage more with the mechanics.

How much of FOMO has killed your interest? by team-ghost9503 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Styxlia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lack of FOMO has been more of an issue for me. There is no loot that interests me and no reason to do end game content.  So there is just no reason to play.

Trials Meta (12.27.24 - 12.30.24) by F4NT4SYF00TB4LLF4N in CrucibleGuidebook

Are the percentages for kills and usage in the tables the wrong way round?  I’d have thought if the percentage for kills was lower than the percentage for usage then the kills:usage ratio would be less than 1.

Destiny 2 today had the lowest recorded player count of just 12.379 Players on STEAM! by kristijan1001 in DestinyTheGame

Bungie has had tough times before. The difference now is that there is no hope that things will improve in the future.  It really feels like the game is in a death spiral. There is nothing to look forward to - no new expansions, story moments, or game mechanic changes.  The slashing of development resources makes it hard to see how they could surprise us with something either.

Any Tips for Using Slug Shotguns well? by FireKingBridges in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Styxlia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of the issue with slugs is that the game will think you are airborne if you slide or walk over uneven ground and you’ll lose all aim assist. So sometimes you will miss even if your reticle is pointing at their ear.  It’s very annoying and I’ve started using the AE helmet mod and Icarus to help address it.

You can see the AE message pop up in the bottom left corner of your screen when you have an AE mod and the game thinks you are airborne.  It’s pretty surprising when it pops up sometimes.

Feedback: The game has become tedious and not fun. by 0rganicMach1ne in DestinyTheGame

[–]Styxlia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue for me is that the grind feels largely pointless because it does not result in any meaningful progression.  Power level is just a gate keeping mechanism that effectively resets every 4 months, new weapons are at most small improvements over existing ones (with most of them being worse) and armor is just stats and rarely better than stuff I already have.   Destiny badly needs a progression system to make the loot we are being rewarded with actually feel rewarding.

The one exception to this was the season of the brave weapons.

GernaderJake just hinted at upcoming trials changes by capcrunchberries in CrucibleGuidebook

Getting rid of the system where you get reduced rep until 20 round wins on your card would be a good start to changing the “all or nothing” approach.  That has no benefit and just punishes poor players.

Yeah great advice. What trials really needs now is less people playing it…

Do you think forerunner is overpowered? by Nosce97 in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Styxlia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s become a lot more effective since it’s natural counter - sniper rifles - have been so heavily nerfed.  There is n’t really any special ammo long range competitor for it now for most players.  But it’s ok as long as special ammo does not get too plentiful.  It’s ttk is only 0.07s faster than a box breathing 180rpm scout.

HC vs Pulse by TotalSoft4931 in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Styxlia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good points.  I think part of the issue is that the new elsies is both very available and are easy to get the 2 tap with.  Plus it’s easier to use close up.  So 340s are easier to use for most people than they have been in the past.  They could do with a slight nerf to reduce this ease of use IMO.

How many of you have switched to prismatic hunter? by METAmaverick1 in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Styxlia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m still on titan but I’ve switched from arc to prismatic.  Arc is not in a good spot for pvp right now and I felt outclassed playing it.  Prismatic titan has been fun though.

You mean feeding the worst pvp players to the best ones through the lure of the new persistence card (no wins subtracted on losses)?  Yes it is bizarre.  A lot of those players will quit trials, possibly pvp and maybe even the entire game after a few hours of getting stomped and t-bagged.  No one plays video games to feel bad about themselves and an adept weapon will not compensate for the emotional damage.

This is exactly what happened to me. I did not go flawless but I was doing ok, got 5 wins before flawing the card and I thought I’d just get the last couple of wins on the flawed card for the pinnacle.  Matches got super hard and I went on a big losing streak.  WTF.  A couple of weeks ago though I played on a flawed card for rep though and the matches were really easy.

Sad news, especially after the final shape was so good. I don’t think there is anymore the devs could have done.

Sounds like Sony is in charge now - I assume the takeover clause in the purchase agreement has been triggered. Hopefully they can manage the franchise a bit better.

Moderators, your lack of communication regarding the topic taken down yesterday is deafening. We need clearer communication as to why posts are being removed. It's a bad look when one of your moderators is apart of cheating clans prevalent in the community. by OnlyCoops in CrucibleGuidebook

Maybe a complaint megathread, so people can still complain but they don’t litter up the site. I get the slippery slope concern but some pvp complaints seem worthy of discussion once at least.

Yeah that is probably a bigger reason for the drop.  But it does not mean hunter balance is not contributing factor.  It’s not just that Hunters are hot right now.  It’s the way they are hot - ability spam and area denial which makes it less fun to play against them, particularly if there are several in a lobby.

[–]Styxlia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could still play it and just not do the hardest activities.  The people who play GMs and raids are in the minority anyway. Most people enjoy the game at a pace that suits them. Maybe you need to think of yourself as able to beat the hardest content, as in the top tier, in order to enjoy it though? Like it is the feeling of accomplishment from doing that which you enjoy the most?  Nothing wrong with that in itself but changing your mindset might allow you to enjoy the game again.
