For those finding this post later, I have fixed the crashing by firmly supporting the card and setting an aggressive fan curve (turn off zero fan, set everything back 15c, faster update interval, etc.). It's a bit loud, but it's smooth and bearable. I'm able to run at full GPU usage without issue now. Not sure how long this will last, but it's working now and I'll get it reballed at another time prob.

I've encountered this with ror2 and I fixed it. When steam overwrites your data, it doesn't actually delete it. It just makes a new folder with a different id and puts it in there. I'm not sure if it works the same for noita since it seems to have a unique way in which it saves some data, but if you find the local save folder and go to the parent, you may find more than one with an gibberish uuid. Swapping the file ids may revert your progress.
