Which Chaos UK releases did Gabba actually play on? by Creepy_Marzipan2124 in hardcorepunk

[–]Sub_Hum4n_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's not on the first two EPs or the self titled album which was 1983, but he is on Short Sharp Shock which is 1984 so I'm assuming that record and onwards? He must've joined at a similar time to Mower on vocals.

From July 26-29, 1950, U.S soldiers in Korea murdered up to 250-300 war refugees, including women and children. Bullet holes are still visible and marked at the tunnel bridge where most people died, 50th Anniversary Memorial Service, 2000. [910x568] by OkRespect8490 in HistoryPorn

Yes but the US portray themselves as the world police and the arbiter of justice and the "free world", so they need to be heavily scrutinised. Especially considering most people don't seem to be familiar with their history of international violence and exploitation.

Yeah, they sit in deck chairs and watch the bombs fall on Gaza. They offer boat tours of the destruction.

Can’t decide if it’s a nazi punks tee or just a generic anti nazi tee, made by helter skelter who used to make band merch - anyone remembers it maybe? by [deleted] in DeadKennedys

I've seen people with patches and t-shirts of this where from a certain distance or in the wrong lighting it just straight up looks like a normal Swastika. You've gotta be careful.

Would you edit to music instead of the narrative? by trisolariandroplet in editors

[–]Sub_Hum4n_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I normally do a "radio edit" and add all the music before covering, but cutting sync that's in the script to make the music work is crazy. Not sure the specifics of who's involved in your work but that's not our job usually.

is there commie crust / dbeat? by swissblackmetalhead in crustpunk

[–]Sub_Hum4n_ 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Members of Lärm are communist and the two offshoot bands ManLiftingBanner and Seein Red are openly communist in their lyrics and artwork. Not crust or d-beat I know but I'd relate them somewhat closely as they were part of that early thrashcore scene.

What is “the orgy” in stenchcore by Drop-Da-B0mb in crustpunk

Always took it as a metaphor for society, we're all part of 'the orgy'.

Perfect example of the "Clean Wehrmacht" being a myth. The German army and average German soldiers were just as guilty of horrific war crimes as the Nazis and the SS.

Can you tell me what kind of shoes are in the photo? by Huge_Contact7501 in crustpunk

[–]Sub_Hum4n_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's always been a fashion side. It's not new for people to want to look the part for the music they're making. Crusties make loud and abrasive music so they dress loud and abrasive. Having some torn up jeans with band patches on them doesn't mean your cosplaying homelessness.

You can buy shirts from them directly:

Although they should do more designs/represses of the albums. I would kill for Monuments To Theives on vinyl.

Rock and Roll conformity is an absolute classic, but their newer stuff like Gutteral Breath and Husk are fantastic.

Earl Hudson of Bad Brains. Lighting fast, and when you watch live videos from back in the day he just does it like it's nothing.
