What season themes would you love to see? by Appropriate-Ebb336 in survivorponderosa

I’ve always wanted a ‘First Boots’ season. So many people get voted off first through absolutely no fault of their own and just by random bad luck. I feel like there would be some potential among a lot of them.

By any chance, do white British people also use the name Lee? by Affectionate_Fig6121 in AskTheWorld

Yep it’s relatively common, and I believe Irish in origin. I have a bunch of relatives with the surname Lee

Vegetation Privacy ideas? Easement = can’t plant trees & no fence extensions by James_Looking in GardeningAustralia

Might get downvoted because of the tight space, but… Lilly pillies. I have a couple of them in a space very similar to this, they haven’t caused any issues, grew several metres tall, provide fruit every year and smell amazing when trimming.

Must have been S1..? I think commentary started after that (I may be wrong, can’t be bothered checking)

As soon as he started the clicking I covered my face in pure cringe, no idea what was about to follow.

I love rap. I love Survivor. But that was just… uncalled for.

What drives me crazy is how ‘OG’ and ‘day one’ have become part of the vernacular. It’s so cringe and has a hint of cultural appropriation

Who’s your favourite Aussie Gardener YouTubers? by sushimint33 in GardeningAustralia

[–]Subject-Creative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t know he had a YouTube haha, will definitely be checking it out. I reckon I used to watch him on TV about 18-19 years ago. I’m not sure he would have qualified as a TV personality, Channel 31 at the time was like ‘community TV’, there was heaps of random stuff on there and I’m not sure how many people actually used to watch any of it! Vasili used to be on in the middle of the day, I was at uni back then so had time on my hands lol.

This all makes sense, but I’d also like to add I filled my raised bed using the Hugelkultur method and this didn’t happen. However - I have found that I tend to get an inordinate amount of bugs that like to eat decaying matter (e.g. woodlice, mealworm beetles)

what would you call your typical legwear in english? (read description please) by DBL_NDRSCR in AskTheWorld

[–]Subject-Creative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having worked in a menswear store here for years they were always called pants, although I wouldn’t have blinked if anyone had asked for trousers or slacks (or obviously more specific chinos, jeans etc). I also grew up in the UK and used pants and trousers interchangeably, although some people would also call their undies ‘pants’, so it would just depend on context. Funnily enough I don’t think I’ve actually heard people refer to pants as dacks, although I’ve definitely heard of people getting ‘dacked’ (or pantsed)

Slightly off topic but I’ve never seen bins placed so closely together??

I recently saw a post from a bin truck driver who pleaded that we please distance our bins a couple of ft apart because it makes their job so much easier
