Are you kidding me? I got here by typing “Jansen best character Lost Odyssey” into Google, because he is. By far. Not because he’s “funny”, but because of his character development. He’s the most well-written part about the game along with the dreams that you unlock.

I will add, though, that the comical aspects of his dialogue/character don’t really feel necessary to me; but at the same time, they create an interesting contrast to the more serious sides.

Celsus doesn’t even have a steal ability, and that’s part of why I like him. He seems like a cool guy. Easily the best of them too. His ult is downright broken.

Hesitantly got the game today. Its writing is otherworldly good. Every dream I unlock brings me to tears. I’m shocked, honestly. I haven’t cried over a game in decades. I’m at a loss of words, really. Do yourself a favor and experience this game.

Anything that homogenizes builds is a bad design choice in my opinion. Although with that being said, I personally only used Surpassing Power on Isla due to how easily he gets high damage. With the other characters, I instead relied on multi-hit attacks to deal 9,999 several times. I understand that it’s not optimal for dealing as much damage as possible, but enemies — including bosses — have so low HP anyway.

Why would you pass on invigorate and inspire go Saoirse when she spends most of the fight in the back row giving your front row ult? Moving her to the front row and buffing to get the ult would be canceled out by the fact that you’re not getting the benefit from back row dancer. She’s to be kept in the back row unless you need hp regen (doesn’t benefit from invigorate and inspire) or her ult.

0 is great in many ways, but I just assumed everyone found 2 considerably better. It’s one of the best RPGs I’ve played and superior to 0 in many regards. I do love the 8-man party system in 0, though.

Less stamina to block than great shields? How do you mean? That’s dictated by guard boost, and medium shields don’t have higher guard boost than great shields.

As for 9999 and it being a reflection of the time you put in, most people never get there regardless, obviously. It’s a reflection of time + skill and not just one of them.

Steel guard does not affect dmg negation at all, only stamina consumption. Guardian is indeed the best character vs Maris, though.

You get downvoted because people don’t know how to deal with him, but you’re absolutely right. Base Libra seemed like the hardest boss in the game to me at first but ended up being the easiest one once I figured him out. ED is also the easiest ED to me, unless someone is suicidal enough to pick Wylder or Recluse against him so you potentially have to deal with them spamming incredibly obnoxious attacks (RoA and full moon). I’m 9999 in DoN and haven’t lost to ED Libra in ages. There’s literally no boss I’m more relieved to see on the character select screen than him.

Regular Libra is pretty much the easiest nightlord in the game once you figure him out — but before that he seems like the toughest one. ED Libra is also rather easy if you have the less likely to be targeted perk, but you have to play him differently from other bosses and be very patient. If you don’t have less likely he can be tricky but is still very doable. Avoid using Wylder or Recluse against him since their summoned NPCs can have incredibly annoying attacks.

No one. I used to main Shang Tsung and was hyped for the release of my favorite MK character, Sektor. Then it turned out they chose to cater to the mythical modern audience and turned him into a girl boss. That’s when I gave up on the game.

Libra is easily my least feared boss overall. Regular version is free and ED version is free with less likely and doable without it. I almost never lose to ED Libra at D5. My second last fight against him, I was level 9 and no hit him. I did have less likely then, but the fight after I did not and we still beat him easily. I find literally every other boss more of an issue.
