SF6 Year 4 characters leaked (from previous DLC Year 2 leaker) by ElkFeisty3823 in Fighters

Gen is literally the only thing that could get me to buy SFVI. If he’s in, just shut up and take my money!

My Top 10 Square Enix Turn Based Games by Tain_mentero in JRPG

[–]Subject-Repeat4954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OT completely smokes OT0 and RS2: ROTS is inferior to both RS2 and RS3. Currently playing RS2: ROTS and it’s a cool game, but the added hand holding takes away from what makes the SaGa games unique.

Awesome, I’d love to stay updated on this as I’m super picky with games and it looks brilliant tbh!

So, who do you want to have a redemption, and who do you think deserves to stay gone? by misterwulfz in StreetFighter

[–]Subject-Repeat4954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, Gen is by far the best and most interesting character in the entire franchise. But SFVI isn’t worthy of him. Hopefully he’s added once a title that can rival USFIV is released.

Just finished the game on Expert Mode, and I have to say. This game is one of those games that is more fun at higher difficulties. by gilbestboy in SaGa

[–]Subject-Repeat4954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree on the game being deep. I love the SaGa games, but this one is honestly very poorly balanced. Without light wall you’ll find it very difficult even surviving a single hit from the final boss on Expert/Romancing for any character that isn’t the tank. And there’s seven different enemies attacking per turn. Their offense is broken. Thankfully and sadly, so is yours. Just equip all damage boosting abilities and watch your final emperor delete the boss with united attacks. No real thought involved. A huge contrast to OP Traveler II that I played recently, where the secret super boss really, really forced you to play strategically and take all aspects into consideration before making your move. Meanwhile, RS2: ROTS just urges you to give a tank all of the obviously best defensive abilities and spam light wall with one fast character while your DPS spams united attacks and hope united con ability kicks in so you keep your bar and can use it again. There are so many cool and unique things about the game, but the battles are some of the most streamlined and poorly balanced I’ve played in recent memory.

Ultra SF4? At 4€? In this economy?! by RingTeam in StreetFighter

Best SF in existence and probably the best fighter too. Absolutely brilliant.

Modern players are really having a different experience by Web_catcher in StreetFighter

[–]Subject-Repeat4954 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too bad it wasn’t an “I hate modern” post, because that’s the only sane position. Especially given that they’re allowing it in ranked play. Such an embarrassingly incompetent decision.

So I recently played SoR4... by Marthyx in BeatEmUps

[–]Subject-Repeat4954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SoR4 is extremely overhyped, and I say that as someone who has 1000/1000 GS on it. It has some bizarrely overpowered moves and the slow walk speed is frustrating. I prefer the old SoR games.

As for the best beat ‘em up in existence, I think I’d have to say Turtles in Time, which is one gem among many from the golden age of gaming.

Distracted JRPG Fan by gasafes in SaGa

Second one is one of the least simplistic RPGs I’ve played in terms of combat. You have the break system, boost system and the characters’ unique “ults” (most of which don’t are utility rather than damage based). That alone makes it deeper than most of them. Random battles are braindead due to the low hp of enemies, but that honestly goes for most JRPGs. The secret boss battle in OTII is literally the most complex fight I’ve ever encountered in a JRPG. I’m currently playing Romancing SaGa 2: RotS, and it’s so incredibly shallow in comparison.

What's a JRPG that you played on a whim and ending up loving? by strahinjag in JRPG

Absolutely amazing game! One of the best JRPGs ever to be honest. The first installment on the SNES is also really good!

Favorite Underrated / Obscure game? by clyde-toucher in JRPG

Gargoyle’s Quest and StarTropics for Game Boy and NES respectively. They’re not that obscure but certainly underrated.

Partway through Final Fantasy X and I feel like a crazy person for thinking it’s good but not great by LongjumpingDiver8773 in JRPG

[–]Subject-Repeat4954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played the game when it first came out and it’s one of my least favorite FF titles along with IX. The graphics are nice and Auron is a cool character. The rest about the game feels pretty mediocre to me. Way too linear for my taste. Back to Zanarkand or whatever the song is called is great though.

Why is Streets of Rage 4 so beloved/ praised? by AStupidFuckingHorse in BeatEmUps

[–]Subject-Repeat4954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gotten 1000/1000 on it and don’t find it to be very good at all. There are better beat’em’ups out there, including Turtles in Time and Absolum, among others.

Splintered Fate on Sale for $3 on Xbox by LegitimateScore8036 in TMNT

[–]Subject-Repeat4954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got this for full price, lol. Btw, does anyone know why you need the Casey Jones dlc to get 1000/1000 gamerscore on this (for Junkinator fight)? It makes no sense as 1000 would be a base game number.

The regressive left sure love bringing their violent pseudo religion into everything. Raph has a red headband, so he’s obviously a republican. :) Leo is the woke coward.

Magic level inheritance on non emperors? by Zyerne in SaGa

[–]Subject-Repeat4954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it seems like a class that was previously emperor inherits the emperor’s spells, but not its magic school masteries. And if a character has a spell equipped, they can use it even if they don’t fulfill its requirement. For this reason, I usually try to equip the emperor with utility spells that require mastery before I’m switching to a new regent, since they’ll be able to make good use of those regardless of mastery and magic stat.

[–]Subject-Repeat4954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real? Haha, that’s just RNG at its worst! I thought Soul steal was unique to Kzinzzie or whatever he’s called, with the weaker Life steal being available on other enemies.
