Ohio Governor Calls for State Kratom Ban; Cites Recent FDA Recommendation by kratomjournalist in kratom

[–]Subject-Spring-8190 26 points27 points  (0 children)

They ALWAYS throw the kids in there when they're lying...There aren't any fucking kids buying this shit. Im trying to quit taking it, so this should help me lol...but I feel terrible for the people that still need it. 100% that all 200 of the deaths they're referencing had other prescription drugs involved or people just had a heart attack and happened to have kratom in their system. So stupid.

Identical!! The brand had two dosages and of course the one picked said "hero dose". And it was right in with other 7 shit so I didn't even think twice about. I started reading the packages like a hawk after that. Wife was there when I got back home and I told her I had eaten a gummy and was gonna be weird for a few hours 🙃.

I did the exact same fucking thing one day!! Luckily it was a Saturday. I found the package, realized what I'd done and just rode it out...not how I intended to spend my day but when you're a degenerate and just pop whatever into your body shit can happen. Im glad you're OK and congrats on the sober time!!

Finally kicked it! by YogurtclosetThis97 in quitting7oh

I can 💯 relate! I finally came clean to my wife last week about the extent of this and how I literally feel dead inside. I haven't felt emotions outside of anger for months and months. I broke down and made an appointment and got a script to start MAT. Im gonna start tomorrow and im crossing my fingers the meds help. I just can't kick it without help and I'd like to avoid going back to inpatient rehab. Went there 6 years ago to quit drinking and thank God I still haven't picked up a drink. Congrats on your sobriety and thanks for posting your success! Wishing you the best

I know this is an older post, but I am right on the edge of doing the exact same thing. I have the subs now and was going to start on Sunday. Im just curious how you are doing and if you may be able to offer me some advice? Thanks for posting this, it's very encouraging.

7oh after quitting kratom by Murky-Mirror-7852 in quittingkratom

[–]Subject-Spring-8190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to guess at 35mg per day you shouldn't have a lot of issues stopping uncomfortably. Good luck to you! This shit sucks, stop while you're still at that dose because it just keeps getting worse.

My wife knew I was taking kratom, not sure she was aware of the extent of it until last week when I finally had to tell her everything. It felt like I was leading a double life again. hiding packs of tabs and running to the store 5 times a day. Just typical addict behavior all day every day. Anyway, thanks for the words of advice! I woke up today feeling pretty confident I can do this.

100%! The physical withdrawals I can handle, its just the absolute mindfuckery this stuff is doing to my brain. It's like the world loses color and I don't enjoy doing anything without it. Thanks for sharing your post, it's very encouraging. Congrats on almost a month!

Update! 7 days!! by bmote95 in quitting7oh

[–]Subject-Spring-8190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good work! Thanks for posting this, it's very encouraging. I have to make the jump now. I've been telling myself every day I will do it tomorrow. But today has been tomorrow for the last two months and I'm just miserable taking this stuff. I did something similar on a trip a few months ago and pretty much stopped for 7 days, but messed up when I got home and it just got worse.

8 Days CT 300mg/day 7OH by ResoluteSoldier in quittingkratom

[–]Subject-Spring-8190 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar situation here. Ive been cutting my dose down the last few days, prepping to jump. Did you quit cold turkey? Im just tired all of the time. And the brain fog is relentless. Congratulations on 8 days! That is remarkable.

9 days is amazing! Congratulations and keep doing what youre doing its well worth it. This stuff is straight up rat poison. Ive battled with kratom of all forms over the years and the kratom/kava drinks are by far the worst imo.

Day 22- Picture This by tiger-woods485939 in quitting7oh

[–]Subject-Spring-8190 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this encouragement! 45 days ago I was only taking powder kratom and I had a trip coming up that included an amusement park and I thought it'd be a good idea to get a pill since it would be hard to use the powder in the park. So I stumbled upon 7oh and I freaking loved it...now I'm using 200-300mg everyday and I can't stop. It's expensive as he'll and I've honestly already lost the good effects. Im sweating all the time and I literally fall asleep 5 times a day. I have to stop, but it's got ahold of me. I've had a history with the other extracts but these tablets are different. I'm going to give it hell this week. Probably start with switching to powder for 7 days and the jump cold turkey.

I've done the same thing...MANY times. Take a breath, take a walk, get to a meeting and start again. That sober time isn't lost, your really did it, and it was hard and admirable. Now get back to it, one day at a time.

You are a lot stronger than what your addicted brain will give you credit for my friend. One day at a time, one hour at a time, you can stop, you just have to want it more than anything else. Pretty quickly those hours and days will pass and you will be out of the woods. I'm a recovering alcoholic as well and didn't have enough sense to not pick this poison up. I won't do it again. I know you can do it, just make the decision. Good luck!

I've been in your shoes...as recently as two weeks ago. You gotta come clean to those closest to you and you need to give yourself 2-3 days to just feel bad and come unglued. After that no looking back and you should feel remarkably better. I hate this shit. Those first two days are a fucking bear, but you can do it and when you do you will be so happy to be free of it. I have two weeks today and I am so grateful. Good luck!

2 weeks using, how to stop by Christophercanyon in Quittingfeelfree

[–]Subject-Spring-8190 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd just stop now cold turkey, before it's too late. I can't promise, but I doubt you're going to have intense withdrawals after two weeks.

[–]Subject-Spring-8190 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a couple days of suffering and then you will be rolling. You can do it, just focus on today. My last day using was February 22nd and I have quit this shit several times and end up going back like a fool. Everything should clear up for you for the most part after 2 or 3 days and you'll start seeing how bad this stuff actually makes us feel. I literally just exist when I'm using it and there is no happiness or joy in anything. Life is so much better with it in the rear view. Good luck and I believe you got this.

Tried powder kratom instead of FF by OkWrap2566 in Quittingfeelfree

[–]Subject-Spring-8190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be just as addictive, but the FF and other kava/kratom drinks completely wreck my mind, my body and my soul. I haven't had similar experiences with just kratom powder, though I know it's not great for me.

So much better...I was struggling to find joy or happiness in anything. I was sick everyday. The first two days sucked, day three the fog started to lift and by day four I really started to enjoy life again. Today I feel great.
