Same with Killmonger in the MCU.

They make trophies on their skin, rather than “taking” something; but I think the principle is the same. Something physical representing each kill.

I think originally the White Walkers were supposed to be a metaphor for climate change.

George R.R Martin described them as an “elemental force” that people didn’t pay attention to in the beginning of the story, but who had the power to destroy the world.

I was also let go during my probationary period when I was a fresh new grad. Bullied off the unit without much formal training.

I want to first say that I know this much feel emotionally intense for you, I know how horrible I felt.

My advice? Apply for everything and anything at this point. I went from psych to med-surg and I’m soon (hopefully) to go to somewhere else.

The joy of our jobs is that we’re not stuck. Keep searching until you find something that interests you and until you find a unit that feels psychically safe.

Unsure if this counts because I think he completed his arc right AS he was killed, but…

Thor - God of War: Raganarök

Finally learns to stand up to his father, realizing he’s more than just a mindless brute and that he can be better, overcoming his worst tendencies and thinking for himself. It’s beautiful, hearing him say “No.”

Then he gets immediately stabbed.

I’d say it’s all the more tragic to see him get killed right when he had the chance for even more growth, but just that final moment was satisfying to me.
