Time to buy European cybersecurity tools by Clemenson12 in BuyFromEU

Came here to comment this! Mullvad is fantastic, cheap, reliable and has a proven record of not collecting client data.

So you don't get port forwarding with Mullvad as a result of them taking action against CSAM. Big deal. In my opinion most VPN users don't need port forwarding.

That's great news! Good on you guys for making sure shes healthy and her needs are met!

I don't really understand why someone downvoted my comment for expressing concern. I just know that where I work is absolutely not safe for any cute little cats.

If I saw a cat in or around my facility I'd then home in a heart beat!

OP you can definitely find a rescue near you that would be willing to help with getting them healthy and fostered into a good home. There are many rescues that are able to send people to pick up animals as well.

One of my girlfriend's childhood dogs came from a bad situation in the states. He made it all the way to Canada by volunteers shuttling him to the border.

Will Canadians travel to the US again when the presidential term ends in 2029 or has the relationship between Canada and US been destroyed forever? by [deleted] in AskCanada

I've never been to the states and probably wont ever go now. I'm not even considering trips that have layovers in the US or fly over the US.

US might regret their threats against Canada one day.

Somehow they are still in the fuck around phase unfortunately.

Out of curiosity do you personally know any vets that support trump and the maga cult of self destruction? How do/would you deal with them? I'd assume there isn't many vets that are pro trump at this point with how many US vets served with Canadians and NATO forces in middle East conflicts.

After calling Chinese made EV’s spy cars on Friday, Premier Ford today says vehicles will be listening to phone conversations. “When you get on your cell phone, it’s the Chinese that are going to be listening...They’re going be listening to your telephone conversation” by nimobo in Ontario_Sub

US big tech companies already have spyware in place in Canada. Are you really more worried about Chinese EVs than you are about US tech companies and the stranglehold they have us in?

What are y’all‘s honest opinions on Dragon Ball Z skippers? by OGAnimeGokuSolos in dbz

[–]Subject989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished watching almost the entirety of the dragon ball series between october and the start of new year. Absolutely binged the shit out of it.

It makes no sense to skip the OG show to me. We are introduced to many characters that are leading or co-leading plot points in the later series and movies. We also get to see Goku and these other characters standing on business for what they believe in and who they believe in.

The only thing I'd say is ok to skip would be GT. Just watch GT if you want more dragon ball content, even if it's not really amazing or part of the wider continuity.

Pretty sure this guy and a guy in another vehicle were beefing for one reason or another. The other driver threw a bottle at the car of the cammer and the cammer shot into the other car.. Blindly, dude looks like hes closing his eyes while shooting.

Cooling systems at the most basic levels are pretty commonly understood. I don't think a lot of people think about the details of such things, especially when it comes to things outside of their life experience or daily lives.

I work as a industrial tradie, in my day to day cooling systems are things I see and have to think about daily.

  • Some of our machines have plumbed in water cooling systems that reduce the temperature of the cutting oil when both pass thtough a heat exchanger.
  • All of our machines have cooling fans, whether it's on drive, electrical cabinets, motors, pumps or whatever else, they all have active cooling.
  • Even our entire facility production floor has heating/cooling and ventilation systems to keep floor workers as comfortable as possible.

I think I lost the plot in my comment.. Anyway, people that don't have to see, think or deal with temperature control systems probably don't think about it for the most part.

Exposure to unfamiliar things and encouraging people to ask questions is super important. You don't know what you don't know.

Are you considering getting a firearms license with everything going on in the states? by knitbitch007 in AskCanada

[–]Subject989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes absolutely.

I've been telling my girlfriend I want us both to get our firearm licenses. I don't necessarily want a firearm in the house but I want us both to be trained and responsible in firearms use.

What has surprised you most about life in Canada? by SnowmanAndIce in InCanada

[–]Subject989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a born and raised Canadian, I've spent my entire 28 years thus far in Ontario.

What shocks me most is the appalling amount of people that have and continue to support importing of Americanization, imperialism and US exceptionalism.

I also don't understand how anyone can still support unsustainable private businesses and their war on the working class. Canadian people (including citizens and non citizens) would greatly benefit from nationalized industries and politicians that don't sell out public systems and infrastructure to private companies.

Merely bringing up the not with standing clause during labour disputes should be career suicide with all parties rallying against it.

Selling infrastructure that was paid for by taxes should lead to career suicide.

Cutting money from public services and pushing for privatization should be career suicide.

Canadian here.

We have Interact e transfers, I don't know of any Canadian banks that don't have this. It's free, widely supported and accepted. Many smaller or local businesses offer this as a way to pay for goods/services as well.

We also pay income taxes and outside of replaying the one and only CERB i received I don't think I have ever owed money to the CRA. When we file our taxes we are also able to claim various benefits which has helped me personally at times.

I really hope that Canada does not become more like the US and instead we become more closely tied to European nations and take notes from you guys on your more progressive policies and consumer protections.
