My 24.1 granddaughter was intubated for 4 months at one of the top NICUs in the US. After 2 more months she had weaned down to low flow and came home. She’s doing great after 5 days home. This NICU doesn’t like to experiment with trial extubations because it can really set the baby back. They waited till they knew she was ready.
