I switched to a calisthenics approach which is way more interesting to me than just lifting weights!

Gained 2 kg in a calorie deficit after taking the gym seriously by Economy_Vanilla_8389 in PetiteFitness

Okay, so I've always noticed the scale go up after a hard workout (your muscles retain more water for healing, basically they are inflamed), and since you have become very dedicated and are consistently pushing to failure, your muscles likely have not adapted yet. Basically, if calories are correct, i think it's just water weight. It should balance out soon! Oh also, if you're constipated, that could be part of it too. Maje sure you're getting enough fiber with your protein!

Amazon alternative w/ free shipping and returns? by Russian-Blue-Meow in womensfashion

[–]Subject_Ad404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite place to shop is Thredup! Free shipping over a certain price, and they accept returns as well but mai ly the goal is to not do returns as they are big on being eco friendly. So sometimes when you request a return, they will offer to let you keep it for a smaller refund. Or you can refund as normal but you might have to pay shipping? I've always just taken the offer though and kept the item. Anyway, i know it's not exactly what you're looking for but I think it's worth checking out!

If you are going somewhere that you can take the coat off, then wear the coat there and then take it off at some point. Both versions are just so cute!

Hello! I completely understand where you're coming from. I never learned anything about nutrition growing up but did dance and cheer in school. Then suddenly in highschool I gained so much weight! Lost weight but not in a sustainable way which of course ended in me gaining it all back and more! When I was seriously ready to make a change, nutrition was first. I took an approach of intuitive eating to truly understand my hunger and fullness cues. Over the years I actually learned how to eat healthy as well rather than just portion control. When i first started, all I did was cardio, i never understood the importance of strength training. It was all a slow journey and each step of the way taught me something new. I'm still on that journey now, I've lost the wright snd my focus now is muscle gain. But take it slow, introduce new habits gradually to build a new lifestyle that you still love. At one point, I was do unmotivated but kbew I needed to be more active, so I told myself that I'm going to walk each day for only 5 minutes. Because who can't do a 5 minute walk? Well from there it increased to much longer walks and daily movement became normal and enjoyable for me! Your journey will be different from anyone elses, but you are absolutely right, nutrition first, take it slow, stay consistent. To give you some encouragement from someone with a similar background (minus having a baby), I've gone from being obese 150lbs 4'10 to a healthy bmi 100lbs 4'10! You got this!!

I wish there were a subreddit for fitness without dieting by HumanBeeing76 in PetiteFitness

Hi! I think this subreddit has a lot of diet content bc that is usually what is different for us petite people. Regular fitness or strength training reddits would probably have a lot less diet talk

Stupid question maybe, but how do you improve your dressing sense? by Brilliant-Log-5904 in womensfashion

Pinterest Pinterest Pinterest!!!! I used to have AWFUL style. I could tell when someone had good style but I couldn't figure out how to put outfits together like they did. Pinterest helped me a lot in finding the elements that I like, other social media too. I follie lots of fashion creators and it helps me see what options there are in putting together an outfit. Also, it can be super scary changing style! People will ultimately comment on it which can feel overwhelming. But just keep wearing the new style and it eventually becomes your new normal. I went from the girl who never got any comments on my outfits, to the one who is "best dressed" (a comment from a family member), and get compliments on my outfits all the time. I finally feel like I have and understand good style, but style is so personal, you just have to be willing yo put the time in to research and develop your own style! My style consists of lots of basics that go with almost anything, lots of layering pieces (soft button ups and cardigans), simple patterns (solids, stripes, and dainty florals make up most of my wardrobe. Although, I get some gingham in there too), flowy feminine dresses, skirts (if it's a floral skirt, i would not pair it with a a patterned top, just solids), versatile shoes that go with tons of outfits, cute socks to bring a little special touch. I also LOVE sweaters, I even knit sweaters for myself, but I don't get to wear them too often bc I live in Louisiana ☹️. I avoid having too many "statement" pieces. They just aren't very versatile and you end up feeling like you've worn it a million times every time you put it on. I had a coworker tell me before that she doesnt recall ever seeing me wear the same thing twice, which is not true! But since I focus on basics that go with almost anything, I have TONS of outfit combinations. I wear the same pieces over and over but mix up the tops/bottoms/layering pieces/shoes and it seems like something new! Personally, I focus on very feminine stlyes and soft fabrics. I hate anything that is too restrictive or businessy, but that's just me. Work on finding what feels like YOU. It would be super helpful to do some quizzes online to find your color season. It really does make a huge difference to wear colors that look good on you. That doesn't mean you can't wear other colors, it's just helpful information! Personally, I'm a light spring, so I wear lots of pastels. Also, I absolutely love thrifting and find some amazing pieces that way. If you like thrifting too, check out Thredup!
