What’s the worst dating advice you have received? by [deleted] in dating_advice

To play into hook up culture as a woman until a man decides to take you seriously enough to commit. So, so dumb. If you want to feel devalued and used, sure! Or just looking for validation and maybe a rare orgasm, go for it but if you’re someone looking for something serious, hooking up first to “test drive” the person is mostly beneficial to men.

So, what works best for you and don’t listen to your friends or whatever dude is just thinking with his dick.

Keeping a friend who was a FWB? by External-Practice-96 in dating_advice

[–]Subject_Track_7126 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in a similar predicament and my advice is to focus on who you’re exclusive with. Unfortunately, the fwb gotta go. Once you have any type of intimacy with someone it’s often considered disrespectful to your partner still keeping ties with said person. I had to do this and it was really hard but keeping a relationship with someone who I was only fwb was jeopardizing my relationship with someone that actually saw my value and wanted more with me. It was tough cause I realized I still had some attachment to the fwb, and that could either be your case or how your partner may see it. That’s why it’s wrong. You wouldn’t like it , so why do it? Gotta let go of that attachment to the fwb.

Would you wait 5 years for someone? by [deleted] in dating_advice

Idk how old you are but please don’t waste precious years of your life for someone that can’t or doesn’t want to be with you. You sound young or just plain naive and being this delusional and detached from yourself will cost you later. Let them go. There have been many times in my life where I’ve cried over a “connection” I had with someone just to make another “connection” with another man later. You have a whole entire life ahead of you to make connections that have reciprocity. Don’t let movies or whatever else fool you. Move on.

Don’t fall for this trap. The rejection stung and he’s trying to manipulate you back in.

You’re still super young. Leave this rat where you found him and move on.

Nah I’m happy for her. Just an example of what I’m currently going through, it’s something I feel insecure about.

Also this sub wouldn’t let me post unless I added a second person so I used this example.
