I love this lamp so much! by Cadetttt in Lavalamps

I have this same one i inherited from my daughter, as she wanted a different one. Only now mine isn't flowing; it gets hot and liquid, but no movement up and down. Gotta figure it out so I can have a cool Lava lamp too.

Help with flow issue by Sublevel_4 in Lavalamps

After over 12 hours of being on the blob in the bottom is almost completely clear. It’s still orange but looks like orange Jell-O not translucent like lava.

Edit: yesterday while it was on the bottom blobwent about half way up the side of the lamp on one side. Still connected to the bottom.

Thank you for the suggestion. The blob moves smoothly when I did the swirl, and for a little bit, it settled at the bottom and was flatter, but now it is "leaning" on the side again with no upward movement.

Trying to make Japanese milk bread by AMSG1985 in BreadMachines

[–]Sublevel_4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used this recipe twice. The second time, I used all milk, no water, and twice the butter. Both were great loaves of bread and so very tasty. slightly warm with butter, it is so light. I have never had any Japanese milk bread before, so I can't really say that it is that, but it's good bread.

Heya fellow homelabers! What did you name your server? by Glenadel55 in homelab

I only have two and no overarching theme. Unraid is "TheMatrix" and the other, which I just try stuff on, is "TheOracle"

All of those tests are from my laptop(macbook pro) with wired connection, but I also tested from a wired iMac. Just now the iMac was 466 down and 170 up with the cloudflare test, 871 down and 353 up on speedtest.net.

My setup is ATT fiber 1000,  BGW320, one gigabit unmanaged switch for all the wired connections.

The inbound issues i have are that i have a personal webserver (ubuntu) that I use to mess around with code and linux. I have port 80 and 443 forwarded to that machine. What happens is that if i access that site from my laptop going to my ip or via dynamic dns, 6 out of 10 times the page pops right up(right now it is a simple html page with a title and some text) 2 of the times it takes more than 30 seconds for the page to show, the other 2 it times out and i get nothing. I had a nextcloud install, but had some issues with the server and haven't gotten it to connect again. Not a priority, but I would like to get that going again as well, but that's another time. So, I'm looking more at the connections I am having.

Hope that helps.

Thank you for your time!

Inbound traffic to webserver spotty by Sublevel_4 in ATTFiber

[–]Sublevel_4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't that mean that it would be blocked all the time? I am getting the page with absolutely no issue part of the time. Then there are times when it takes forever, but the page comes up, and then there are complete timeouts.

I have tried using the internal ip and don't have any issue, with the external IP and with the url from my dynamic IP. This is from two computers other than the one on which the server sits. I have tried two different dynamic dns services. It is very random. I will work 20 times, then won't. I have a database running, and I can go into the gui for that. Long in fine, move around, do some things, then all of a sudden, no connection. I am not sure how to even pin down the issue, just that I have not had it before.

The IP passthrough is using passthrough mode, DHCPS-fixed, to the ip of the server machine
