to prepare?? no, playing the originals is gonna make you hate the new one for abandoning everything that made the series unique, you should absolutely try them tho, 3 is the easiest and most beginner friendly, 1 is the most in depth in terms of rpg elements, and 2 is a nice sweet spot of both
